THIS IS WIDESCREEN!

Since it's not mentioned in the nfo and there's also no sample, I watched a single rar to check that this wasn't a pan & scan rental edition. What I saw of the picture was widescreen and also pretty good. Will watch full movie tonight and rate it afterwards.

Edit: sample rar defaults to Portugese. Full movie defaults to English.

Superb rip. Untouched video and no menu issues that I could find. Movie is watchable enough but I couldn't tell what was happening half the time?

While the pic and sound are fine on this, it does smell of a rental release & not retail tho.
Very boring 'menu' consists of just a picture with Play, Language & Scene selection & has no audio to it, which is pretty normal for a rental copy.

If those issues don't bother you, then this is the one to get.

Movie was ok, but not as good as I expected. Took quite a while to get going.

Great quality release.

Movie started out fantastic but fell apart in the final 1/3rd. Still, very entertaining flick, badass visuals.

Freeze-frame

Does this Dvd version freeze about 5 times between 1h34'54 and 1h37'09 (during the shaking fight scene) the same as the Xvid-Flaite version - and is it supposed to?

I haven't seen the XviD version but yes it does freeze and I think it's meant to?

Freeze-frame?

That's just crazy making a DVD with FX's that simulate dirty disc problems - I wonder how many have pulled the disc from the player to check for scratches or finger marks - still if that's the way they do things these days, one can only expect dissapointment.

A cracking release.

Gets a bit Event Horizon come 2001, but worth the wait.

Cinematogrophy goes a bit west ( hand held is a bit old hat ) but otherwise a really fine film.

No probs with menus, audio or pixelation for me.

M-9.5 Really liked it.

I thought the release was a bit messed up when they got to the 2nd ship with the split second flashes that happened numerous times, but a quick pause/freeze frame showed it was glimpes of the crew. Was quite weird.

Still watching movie but at about the 49min20sec mark there is a flash for probably one frame of someone's stupid face. Don't know if it's from the source as a watermark type thing or from the release group. Will rate after watching the rest of the movie.

Edit: OK I see more flashes of faces apparently of the first Icarus crew but I wonder if they're supposed to be there like that cause it's so fast.

v.9

m.6 (Too weird especially at the end with all the camera tricks and special effects, just made me dizzy literally)

Yes. It's a silly gimmick which even TV stations are using now to advertise forthcoming attractions. The idea is that the image isn't displayed long enough to register in your conscious mind but that's a nonsense as practically everyone notices there's something there. When this movie is eventually shown on digital TV everyone is going to think their reception has gone haywire!

Very nice release but shame about poor movie.

I agree also

Movie held my attention until the last 1/3 and it went downhill from there.
