HD Cam video conversion
As per me being constantly bickered by family, I've currently run into some problems with finding information on google and videohelp that will fit my needs.
A family member of mine recently bought a sony high definition video camera.
When you capture the video from the camera using the sony software, it puts the files into the 'm2t' format.
A few things I'm looking for (or just needing more information about) is:
1) Codecs available to play the files in any media player?
2) Conversion software? mpeg2 would be the most needed, more importantly anything (and the more simple the better, for my sake of not getting 15 calls a week being asked how to do things) in a simple m2t->DVD conversion. (if only things are out there to convert are for compliant-mpeg2 that's fine)
any help would be greatly appriciated, I've only been searching for a little bit so it might just be being stupid, off to look for more now, thanks.
I'm guessing that .m2t is an MPEG-2 transport stream (same as a .ts file). Will it play in PowerDVD?
My preferred method of DVD conversion would be to load through DGIndex/AviSynth, downscale and frameserve to CCE.
This is quick way to convert the transport streams: http://www.svcd2dvd.com/HDTV2DVD/default.aspx
