lightning strike

my house was really close to being struck by lighting this past sunday. i lost one tv and my alarm system started going nuts. the tv was old and the alarm system wasnt active anyway so i guess i did okay. but now i have come to realize that my video card my not have made it out totally unaffected. the card has 3 outs on it. the dvi which was connected and went black (sleep mode) but a simple restart fixed it. a vga which wasn't connected but once tested is working fine and an s-video, which was connected to my tv now seems to be gone. i get no picture on my tv even after fiddling around with all the settings. i can tell its there because the mouse moves off the screen but I've tried different cables, different inputs everything else seems to be working fine.

is it possible that the lighting messed up just the s-video out of my video card and if so whats do i do now. i used my tv to watch movies, etc. and would like to get it connected again. is there such thing as vga to rca (rca being the input on my tv -- comp went from s-video to rca via dongle)

If you are using a HDTV then you can get a straight converter like this: http://www.cablesnmor.com/vga-rca-cable.html

but otherwise you'll need something called a scan converter which are quite pricey. So depending on what your video card is, it may be cheaper to replace it (or warranty the cunt and keep your mouth shut).
