Bootdisk error or something?

My computer starts up and says something about a bootdisk error, any clue as to how to fix it?

Think EJO had said that this is like a corrupt MBR.

So.... based on the advice that I can barely remember, about a problem that might be related... or might not.

Boot up your WinXP CD (assuming you have XP and not Vista, or some other OS). Go to the recovery console.

COuld be just a windows error, in which case:

And run chkdsk /r (which assumes /p) and this will fix any file system errors. then run fixmbr and fixboot

type exit and see if the machine boots.

IF you have vista, it will try to repair itself when you boot off the cd.

IF this doesn't work, you may very well have a dying HDD
