R5???

I'm not sure if it's just me but doesn't this look like a telecine rather than an R5? Very dark in Places, colors not very sharp... kinda like a blur to the video. Judging as an R5:

V: 6

A: 6 ( has pulsing sound too it that eventually clears)

m: ? ( seeing it tonight )

Posted by Cr-critic on 11-01-2007 06:07 AM:

V-8 very nice on plasma tv / dark in spots
A-9 on Plasma / 7.5 on PC.....why is that ? seems of late alot of avi have sound issues on pc yet sound fantastic on tv from a standalone?
M-?.looks interesting and full of top actors..

Posted by AndrewM on 11-01-2007 07:21 AM:

This is from the sample:
v:8.5
a:7 (for line). Audio was tinny and a little hollow but still better than what we've seen lately on R5 lines.
Sorta sucks, actually - two years ago R5 disks carried the original audio tracks as the norm. Now its the exception, so all these poor groups have to go hunting audio sources to do early releases.

Thanks to mVs for beating everybody and providing a watchable release.

It looks like a TC to me, but what the heck do I know about this.

It's watchable and audio is good, too. Nice work from mVs.

Posted by seikeden on 11-01-2007 11:52 AM:

Looks like a TC, video is blurry/murky and the sound is ridiculously bad.

6/5/?

Posted by bottles on 11-01-2007 12:25 PM:

would suggest a nice TC, so much better than the "TC" mVs released prior. Maybe labelled R5 to save face. Anyway from sample, as TC

v 8
a 7
m ?

Posted by stezo2k on 11-01-2007 01:12 PM:

Almost certain this aint an R5, colours are a little dark, dont get me wrong the quality is good but not as got as an R5. I'd say it was an average TC

8/7/x

v 7
a 7
m ?

Posted by Diggler on 11-01-2007 01:54 PM:

I watched the first 20 mins before giving up. I seriously doubt this is an R5, and if it is, it's crap for an R5!

Based on R5

V: 4 (dark and blurry)
A: 6.5 (clear, though lacking bass)
M: ? (gave up after 20 mins)

Posted by acalmenvoy on 11-01-2007 04:17 PM:

Very bad R5 but an excellent TC, but the main thing is its
very watchable.

As R5.

5
6.5
8

Posted by sosaix on 11-01-2007 04:26 PM:

I dont think this is an R5, maybe not even a true telecine. The aspect ratio is 2:1, so lots of cropping from the 2.40:1 of the original. Rated as a tele-whatever:

v:4 (blurry and soft, a true R5 would not be this bad...)
a:5 (hollow and no bass)
m:9 (I loved it, saw in cinema)

Posted by Bullet on 11-01-2007 06:50 PM:

This looks like a TS. Its not even standard TC let alone r5.
Since its not nuked i asume its a r5. But a reallllll poor one then

But then again;..nukers nowadays..pfff

6/2/8

This is never a R5, there isnt even a R5 release of this yet. At best a TC but my guess is a TS. Audio is horrendous.

A 4
V 5
M will wait for a better release.

Posted by ikghassassin on 11-01-2007 08:42 PM:

if this is from a dvd source than mvs needs to find some new rippers...lol..i agree with everyone else that this is most likely a decent TC

v: 6 (dark, very blurry)
a: 5 hollow and tiny
m: still waiting for a better copy

Posted by dodgy368 on 11-01-2007 09:31 PM:

A 10
V 10
M 9

Well, mvs started it!

.......................................................................

...and for the noob below, because he didn't understand what I was saying(not flaming ya).

A 5
V 6
M 9

Rating as an R5
V - 5
A - 5
M - waiting for a better copy

Rated as a TC
V - 8
A - 7

And to the noob above me, u really need to learn what quality is. An R5 will never have a 10 rating for audio because the R5 audio is russian, so they have to use another audio source and it ends up being a TS or a TC audio source.

Posted by Monkey39 on 11-02-2007 08:43 AM:

I watched the whole flick, really enjoyed it. Saw comments saying the sound is horrific (better check your sound system) sound was decent (burned it and watched it on my stand alone) video is a little on the dark side but didn't distract me from the movie. I'm not as knowledgeable as some of you rating R5's, R1's, TS, TC .... I rate it based on what I viewed and based on that will rate it the following :

V=7
A=8
M=8

Posted by wallbanger on 11-03-2007 02:01 AM:

Well I converted to DVD and used TMPEG to lighten and added contrast ( which is what I have to do with a lot of movies even DVD rips) and we watched it and except for a few small glitches the colours were good and the sound was good. The story line was interesting
V 7
A 7
M7

Sick and tired of people like Torxxx writing in this forum trying to look like some allknowing god of the scene, thought its comletely obvious that this guy has no freaking idea of what he is talking about.

Torxxx get your damn facts right before you downtalk people.

So this is a for Torxxx and others who dont realy have a clue about the scene releases:
R5 can and probably will have a 9-10 audio rating, if its a clear R5 release. You know all russion movies arent with russion audio.
The R5 releases labeld .LINE will have a audio source from TC, NOT CAM! or else its not a proper scene release.

So Torxxx now you know the differents of R5 and R5.LINE congratulations.

My opinion about this release:

V - 5 (way too bad for a R5)
A - 7 (for a line you should not expect better)
M - 9
