V 9
A 8
M ?

hmmm i'm a bit confused to this one, as I'm wanting to convert it to ac3 divx for my own use. When you first play the dvd, it starts playing the 1hr 23min version. Browsing a few menus selecting audio commentary etc, and its playing a 1hr 37 version. Now I'm not sure which one is the main version to rip/play....it sounds like the default playing version may have about 15mins LESS footage in it.

anyone any idea?

probably the ac-3 track thats 5.1 and 384-448k and equal runtime to the video.
also xvid is a better codec to encode with then divx

considering the screens on vcdq, this doesn't looks like a untouched R2 video
PAL is definitively higher quality then that

Title 2 (instead of title 1) is played when you select the commentary track. This title has about 250mb of unused cells (3 of them) which add up to about 15 mins. The title is exactly the same as title 1 but because of the unused cells the playtime is wrong. I have deleted these cells and the playtime is now the same as title 1 and the DVD size has gone from 4.33gb to 4.09gb.

the simpsons

any body getting a long black pause at the start like ratattoiue had

Posted by Midnight Tboy on 11-06-2007 01:00 AM:

thanks for that,

well Id ran it thru robot4rip and then autogk, and the end result was vastly out of sync. (opting for the longer one at the time), now converting it again with the first PGC. I'm presuming its 83mins and not the stated 87 mins hopefully due to the 30/24 fps differences and its not cut somehow/somewhere

What the.....

At 10mins 44seconds theres a ticker running along the bottom advertising a show for Fox channel. Surely thats not a deliberate 'joke' and this is perhaps some sort of screener or something? or does anyone know if this was in the cinema etc too? It doesnt look like it fits in properly either, quite jerky scrolling.

aha thanks for that.

I did think hmm is that a joke...but the way it was kinda jerky scrolling, and the way it just popped off the screen again threw me off a bit on top of thinking "hang on if this is a dvd, then its gonna look pretty odd seeing a tv advert for a tv series that was since cancelled a year or more late" but then I did just flick thru it

least its good to go then any idea what this repack dvdr mallarky is all about tho as I see nothing wrong with this version?

Maybe there was an option to view movie with deleted scenes, and they stripped its english audio keeping its commentary track ?

Posted by goober on 11-13-2007 07:05 PM:

if anyone watches the movie with the commentary going they will find that the movie is paused while the cast and crew chat about about something that was omitted or changed in that scene.then they press play and the movie continues.

nice rip imo
