Good quality, it's full screen and with subs, but good quality. Will be an interesting movie to check out. They surely didn't film this in Afghanistan, because the neighborhoods look better then they poor folks in Afghanistan have. Audio is good and overall you can't do wrong with the release.

Interesting - what player were you using? I've downloaded the same release and the aspect ratio loads normally without encoded borders.

v:6 - this really needs a two disk release. The film is over two hours - blockiness and pixelation galour.

a:8 - solid.

m:? I started to watch and then stopped and decided I'd wait for a better release. The video is watchable but could be much better. The book was pretty good.

@Mailman: I listened to an interview on BBC World Service a week or so ago about this movie. From the interview, the director/producer said that it was filmed there. The two main actors and thier real families had to relocate from there because of the male-rape (super-taboo) scene. They filmed in remote parts there.

Yeah ... there's nothing wrong with the release. I grabbed the wrong one at first (CM8 - a crappy 4x3 reencode of Camera's release from the looks of it). This one is better, although it's still pretty compressed.

Ok on a old type TV, but not good on other screens. Artifacts galore, must be a bad "original"
