From sample;
Vid looks good, nice colors&contrast. Pic could be a little bit sharper, I think. Saw some strobe like artifact in down left corner. Could be the movie itself.
Audio is direct, Gspot&nfo say CBR. Hope not. Shame if this would be nuked.
Movie looks promising. Either it is a great flick or a very boring one. Will find out one of these days.

Thx once again, Pukka.

audio is ac3 so that's why it reads as cbr

from the sample it looks decent enough.
not the best TC i've seen, but the video is bright and the audio is direct & clean enough to enjoy. i just hope no sync issues.

7.5/8/x

been looking forward to checking this one out after all the praise it's getting.

From 2 rars and sample. Resolution and color good. Decent sound. Appears to be a premier movie. IMDb 9.0, #44 on its all time best movie list. Rotten Tomatoes 89%. Ebert 3.5 out of 4.

8/7.5/? An immediate must see. Thanks to PUKKA for the vehicle.

Ok, apparently I'm still on noob status and can't post my message immediately, so anyway, I hope this message doesn't take too long to get to everyone.

Possible **SPOILERS** (hardly):

This is a definite NUKED. Not only are there scenes that are completely cut-off (i.e. you wont even find the part from the trailer with Day-Lewis dressed-up saying, "When I say I'm an Oil Man, you will agree -I'm a family man..."), but the second CD is out of sync (confirmed by me and people on rlslog). This is an excellent movie and I don't think it is watchable like this at all, even if it was in sync and included the missing scenes. In that, I'm talking about how the black level in some scenes is just too dark, and since this movie relies heavily on the actors emotions and respective facial expressions, it's just not worth seeing if you can't clearly see their faces.

set the time shift to -335ms shortly after you notice the sync problem on CD2. that should fix it.

I've skimmed through CD2, at times it appears to be very slightly out of sync, but I'm honestly struggling to tell for sure. If this is the case, then I'm not gong to sweat it even if a repack showed up. It's very small to me, but I'm struggling to tell for sure. Video is nice, but some of the night scenes are a bit dark. This is a movie I only discovered last night and considering how early of a release, nothing but props to you Pukka.

OK, I just finished watching, and this should be 100% NUKED. Do not watch this release; it will misrepresent a truly awesome movie.

This release cuts to the credits early, chopping off the last 30 seconds of the movie; and you DO NOT want to miss those 30 seconds, as there are a few spoken words that give the film solid closure.

For those of you who saw this in the theater, go ahead and skip right to the end of this release and you will realize what I'm talking about. We need to get this nuked, yes?

In addition to the chopped-off ending, the entire last 15 minutes of the movie has been reordered, changing the true chronology of events. I wouldn't be surprised if this telecine was made from a workprint.

Concur. Scanned Cd2 and a very slight sync problem exists. Not enough in imho to affect viewability. Also not watchable on a monitor. Some scenes are just too dark. Cut off scenes cannot comment on yet.

I anxiously await the nukesters to do their job regarding any of these issues.

Posted by mitch84 on 01-12-2008 04:50 PM:

Sync issues aside I can confirm this is missing a few scenes and some of the lines at the end of the movie are cut off.

looks like i will have to go to the cinema due to this new cinea protection, the future of screeners does not look good!!

another nuke worthy release by pukka. this makes what, #9218431532 ? you'd think they'd get it right by now. they should just give their source to another group who can actually rip a movie properly.

Sync issues in cd 2 --checked it 1st--ruined it for me to watch-will wait- : (

I mean common when you are smashing someones head in with a bowling pin and the sound is 3 sec's off --ruins it

Posted by xxcalibur on 01-12-2008 07:05 PM:

i dont know how people are honestly rate the video any higher than a 5...pixelated and such,
not even worth the status as a telecine. looks like a cam to me..lol

Posted by rasbumr on 01-12-2008 10:58 PM:

I sure hope there is a PROPER because the quality looks watchable to me, but of course a DVDSCR would be nice. I will wait to see if the sync issues are fixed and the missing scenes added before I download. I hope they hurry.

MAD PROPS TO PUKKA......
for putting out yet ANOTHER out of sync release!

from what everyone else is saying i'll wait for a decent copy...the sync really isn't a major issue and can be easily fixed using VLC, but as far as the missing scenes and the cutoff on the credits goes that's something i don't think should be tolerated by anyone.

should be nuked.
