Led Zeppelin
Ok, We all know that the reunion show this last December had to be bad ass. I'm sure none of the members here got to see it because no one gloated.
There are rumors galore about a tour this year. Do you actually think this could happen? I have my doubts but I'm hoping it does. I would give my left nut to go.
I would be happy to pay 3 c-notes to go. Without question. As it would be a chance of a lifetime, Just imagine Kashmir and Stairway live. That would have to be the best show ever.
If they release the dvd of this reunion show I'll for sure buy it.

I would most definitely pay a decent amount to see them but not as much as I would pay to see Pink Floyd reunite. I never saw Zepplin in concert, but two of the best shows I have ever been to were Pink Floyd concerts back in the 80's and early 90's.
Hey para if they do a tour will you buy my ticket?

no

Led Zeppelin Sucks Jay Are's ass
I once ran a website called "Get the Led the fuck off my radio" for people who thought that Robert Plant was about as talented as Dukenukeem and thought Led Zeppelin was about as worthy of a listen as Martha Stewart and Rosie O'Donnell singing Somewhere over the rainbow while Christopher Lowell pounds his scrotum with a jackhammer in the background.
Actually, the Stewart, O'donnell, Lowell combo is probably more enjoyable to my ears.
Oh, para, are you going to die or something, you seem to be living in the past a lot these days. I'll be sure to not attend the funeral, as I'm sure it will be in Ohio.

I still listen to their music... however, have read from countless sources how they ripped off soooo many other bands....
In all honesty if it wasn't for bands like The Beatles, Zep, Pink Floyd, CCR, Frampton, Iron Butterfly, Edgar Winter, Cream, Clapton, and even AC/DC we wouldn't have the music we have today
It's bands like these who shaped rock into what it is today They are the godfathers of rock. They are the foundation of rock/metal
Now If I'm not mistaken on the band, White Snake copied Zep damn near note to note. If it wasn't White Snake it was another Glam band like em.
It's like saying BB King sang the Blues like his father Albert King. BB King is similar to Muddy Waters. Just because all three musicians were Blues singers doesn't mean that they aren't lengendary. All 3 were great. Old School blues is fantastic. At least Waters and BB had a similiar sound doesn't mean they ripped off each others sound.
I just don't see where anyone can say that Zep ripped many other bands off, I still listen to a lot of classic rock and for the time they were quite different. They alone opened the door for so many other bands.
Now if you said The Stones and Aerosmith sounded alike you'd be right.
One last thing. Artistic insipiration comes from other sources. So I'm sure they had there inspirations. Just like every other band.

most of you suck, not para (due only to his choice in music) and NOT Zepplin.
I saw a show put on by Classic Albums Live (studio musicians playing through an album beginning to end note for note*.) They covered the Zepplin IV album, then after they finished going through it they did a best of sort of thing, and it was just incredible.
After hearing that rock produced EXACTLY like its played on the record, on the stage in front of you is AMAZING. I wasn't really a huge LZ fan before I went but being a fan of Rock in general I couldn't pass up the free tickets I won on the radio.
*They don't "re-enact" the shows, they just stand there and play their instruments/sing. It might sound boring but I assure you its incredible.
Since that show I've also seen Classic Albums Live do the Back In Black album, the Dark Side of the Moon album, and Im going next week to see them perform Hotel California.
until i found the magic of free mp3s a few years ago....i hated zepplin....most of the commonly heard shit is crap and overplayed....but since i can grab complete discographies at will i have learned new respect for many hated bands...zep is one of em....
bonzo and jones are an unstoppable rhythm machine...and page does some nice shit when he isnt tranced out into some artsy drug shit....but plant still doesnt have enough talent to cover his ego....
as far as being rip off artists?
all music is a repititon of influential ideas...it just depends on the generation that is being influenced as to what is being ripped off....there are many great bands that copied/ripped off/respected/tributed(only depends on how you look at it)....elvis..beatles.. stones(thier first album didnt contain a single original).. animals.. kinks.. clash.. the who.. and tons more
just remember these 2 important facts about music
1...you cant play the blues with a japanese guitar
...and....
2...all the good riffs are taken

Has anyone seen the live concert from '07? There is a copy floating around on the interweb. It's bootlegged to hell and back. It's not bad though. It was over 6gbs though.
50's and 60's and 70's was a time of great music. The End.
Oh I forgot the Ramones. Another bad ass group.
