reencode??

IMO, better audio/pic than these early CAM releases

V: 4
A: 9 (seems like direct sound)
M: have not watched it all yet

we need a good R5 or at least a good telesync from a decent camera. I dont think we'll see a screener of this one for sometime.

hopefully 20th or PUKKA will get us all a nice one, i'll keep my fingers crossed

Video - 6
Audio - 6
Movie - 10

I thought that this was worth the hype, I am glad that it was shot this way. One of my new all time favorites.

I'm really impressed with this audio. The video is a bit dark and not crisp, but it's a TS and I have to remind myself we won't always be scoring these DVD SCRs constantly here. Thanks for the release guys, effort appreciated.

meh, same p2p source that has been out since last friday/saturday. Nice audio but the video runs really odd. Like it is in slow motion somewhat.. Guess that is why other groups didn't pre it by now. Nice try though.

cloverfield

this release is good 4 a cam 7 video (cam) 6audio (cam) 2 movie this movie is pure crap(not flamming the release nice job guys) how this could be a 9 on here has got me wondering what people r watching these days... saw this in the theatre opening night and have to say this was a total rip-off of blair witch except that blair witch tryed to portray their movie as actual events... this was pure garbage with no answers a terrible plot, a shit ending, and an even worse monster... hey heres a novel idea where did it come from??? the ocean/ the sky, more like out of the directors ass...the whole third person thing shot on a video camera has got to go...my advice to you take a dramamine b4 you watch this....This movie ranks right up there with mathew brodricks godzilla.. lastly for the dorks playing cards in line 4 the 11pm show asking me if it was godzilla on my way out... it probably would have been better if it was..

I haven't watched this movie, but to be fair, most monster/horror/zombie/etc flicks don't give explanations of the events leading up to the big monster. And if they do, it's something we've all heard before and trite - radioactive waste, aliens, etc. Most of these films will give merely two or three lines of dialogue to explain and are pretty weak explanations to begin with. Basically it's part of the genre.

Also it wasn't ripping off Blair Witch (you meant 1st person, not 3rd). There have been plenty of films shot in first person through it's entirety. Blair Witch was just the first to get recognized by today's culture. See "Lady in the Lake" (1947). http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0039545/

Anyhow...about the release (based on a TS):
V: 6
A: 5
M: * gonna wait for a SCR me thinks

have no idea what you were watching at the theater but this movie was intense and good... its not supposed to explain anything because its like if your city all of a sudden got attacked by a monster... would you know where it came from? obviously NO... . so the characters didnt...nobody knew which is how it would obviously be i know you didnt want a scientist stopping the camera and explaining it... it was footage taken of that night lol.. i felt like i was right there w/ them in the movie.... as for the cam being apart of the movie you knew what you were getting into... so why watch it ? terrible plot ha! ... this movie is best seen at the theaters though and stay past the credits... and the monster is pretty creative... haha wished it was godzilla he was a big lizard... this monster who knew what it was?! because i didnt... as for the ending its from a camera what else did you expect ... there are worse endings than that like no country for old men and that movie is great... but yea ill stop rambling

The sound is nice, the video not so much.

V-6.5
A-7.5
M-?

*UPDATE* I tried watching this and man is it bad. The video is pretty terrible, even when tweaking my color/contrast/et cetera setting. The colors are washed out, the picture isn't sharp and contains a lot of pixel blocks. The audio I thought to be decent until I got a couple minutes into the movie (on my dvd player). It seems direct, but at times it's difficult to hear what is being said. I will pass on the release, thanks anyways.

New score:

V-5

Just finished watching this version after seeing it in the cinema today. This version is decent and adds a bit to the cam feeling. hehehe. But seriously you might want to wait for a version with the end credits as that leaves some extra info on what you just watched

V: 7
A: 7,5
M: 9 (best movie since years imo)

Thanks for a fast decent version OBSESSION.

Re: cloverfield

6 video, 7 audio, 9 movie.

Who the hell cares where the monster came from or what it is? The point of the movie was a "what if" with a monster tearing up a big city. Somehow I don't think they'd know wtf it is in an 6 - 7 hour time span while running for their lives. And by that accord, the movie was really damn effective. Would recommend catching it in theaters or waiting for a dvdrip blown up on a big screen w/ 5.1+ audio. Was a blast.

Possible Spoiler:

Apparently not to many people actually watched the movie. But during the end (when the video cuts back to the couple on the ride in the ammusment park) and you see the ocean in the background, if you WATCH you see something fall out of the sky and into the water right before the movie finishes. I'm gonne jump to the assumption that this would repersent the creature in the movie. Just my 2 cents.

Crap

4/4/?

Even if this this is a poor film, still does not merit this release,

Great copy of AVPR out by the way if you watch on a nice 24" imac!
