VLC

Does VLC have an auto resume option for video files?

If not, why not?

Since we're talking about VLC, does it have a repeat option as well? What about opening video files in the same window, ie instead of opening seperate windows for each file, it will open the 2nd one you click on in the first window.

I guess I could google it but I'm too lazy right now, lol!

VLC is stupidly powerful so you both need to RTFM. Most of it's clever stuff is done via parameters you pass to it in the command line (it can serve video and all sorts of wacky shit).

I'm not sure about resuming video but I know the "embed" option that mancandy wants is here:

Settings>Preferences>Interface>Main Interfaces>wxWidgets>Embed Video (you can also embed the playlist window from here).

Seriously guys, don't mistake VLC for a cut-down basic player, read the docs (or at least the section headers). It might have a clunky interface but as far as having tricks up it's sleeve, no other player can compete.

Agreed, The only problem I have with it is MKV support, It plays em, but not good. I've tried numerous settings and I can't get it right. As far as everything else goes, Its the ONLY player to use. Even for an end user like Candyman.

As for the Player opening different instances, Those functions have changed in the past 2 years.

Stop using IE, and WMP. The end.
