Usual goodness from BaLD, 10/10/6 (skimmed).

Saw this at the theatre and tbh I didn't rate it at all. Has some nice imagery, great special effects but story is absurd and lacking and tbh, quite boring and cliche.

The movie really reminded me of Pathfinder on a much larger scale, in a different age and way more epic.

I've wanted to see this for a long time. So finally here it goes, the video is great and I can't complain. The audio seems to be flat, but it's direct from what I'm seen so far. I have not noticed sync issues, but we will see shorlty. Thanks for the release guys.

M-7.5

Yeah this is a nice release. I converted my copy to DVD and ratings are from standalone perspective.

V 9
A 8 Better than expected seen as there were only cams released. I agree with Mailman the audio seems direct. I did only watch 30mins and scanned through the rest, but everything seemed fine.
M ? Watching in the morning.

*OK watched whole film now, no problems at all. Ratings stay as above plus a 6 for the movie.*

based off whole movie..

V: 8 (little blue at some points but I think it was made to look like that. )

A: 8 (at first it was echo'y but I think it is my audio setup that may have been set wrong)

M: 6.9 actually a pretty nice movie, wish they had more of the animals in more scenes but happy with it.

No glitches no audio problems.

NIce...just watched the whole flick...great movie. Video was great, and audio was good....thanks!! Been waiting for this one.

Video - 9.0
Audio - 9.0
Movie - 9.0

Thanks, guys!!

Video was great.
Audio was decent, a TAD behind sync.
I played mine at 0.3 delay on the Xbox and it seemed to fix it.
Movie was pretty bad, especially the cartoonish CGI. (That sabure toothed lion was absolutely horrid looking! Everything else was typical cartoon looking CGI.)
Plot was stupid. I like Roland Emmerich.
This is nowhere near his other efforts.
I can't wait till CGI dies and people realize traditional f/x look better and they start doing stuff like The Thing again.
(Where are you Rob Bottin?!?!!?)

M:3 shitty ass movie

Watched entire movie. DIdn't quite hate myself when it was over.

A=8 Sounded quite clear, but I noticed a slight fade in a couple of places, not hollow, just a slight volume reduction.

v=9 quite clean, crisp and bright.

M=6. Not quite as boring at that Mel Gibson POS from a while back. :/ The animal CGI was quite beautifully done.

Not had chance to watch this release yet but have had a quick look... Can't really argue with the posts above, it looks to be very watchable, video and audio are pretty spot-on. Can't confirm or deny the out-of-sync issue mentioned above, but didn't see anything obvious.

Movie looks like the plot is shallow enough to watch in your sleep, perfect for a Sunday evening

V - 9
A - 9
M - ?

::EDIT:: I've watched it now, it's not very good. The plot is stupid and doesn't really give you what the title offers. Movie gets a 4

Posted by bellcam on 04-27-2008 02:46 PM:

v = 9
A = 7 (sounds like filtered cam to me but may be wrong and slightly out of sync)

M = ?

Posted by wrist on 04-27-2008 03:57 PM:

Pic - 9
Sound - 7-8ish in the current climate. Not bad. Bit warbeley in high volume and loud music places. Slight sync issues throughout speech wise. Overall OK though to be honest. Its one of those thats in sync 99% and you look again...
Flik 7 Better than expected. And the girl is shit hot x

Average viewer would place as 100% throughout. Its one of those...95% of viewers don't notice the sync issues.

Watched the whole flick ... seen this plot before only it's set in 10000 BC Rated as follows

V=9
A=9 Didn't notice the sync issues
M=7 guess there wasn't anything but big wooly mammoths and some man-eating birds in 10000 BC

Posted by pknw1 on 04-27-2008 06:38 PM:

I've seen comments elsewhere that this may be overcropped at the bottom to remove hardcoded russian subs... apparently it's obvious from the Warner Bros logo at the start?

anyone got any info on this (can't check myself as at work until late)

10,000 BC XVID

I have to disagree with prior posts on the quality of the movie itself, but first the audio and visual:

Audio: 7 Seems to be slightly out of sync for the first half of the movie. I'm sure others with the appropriate skills and software could correct this but I did not find it too distracting

Visual: 9 Great picture, no pixelation but some blurry bluish scenes at night

Movie: 9 Very much in the spirit of Apocalypto and Stargate. Breathtaking landscapes and visual impact. Good story too. Narrated at various times by Omar Sharif. CGI saber tooth tiger was not well done; almost cartoonish but this is only a very small part of the movie. The wooly mammoths were just fine.

I enjoyed this movie very much but then, this is my kind of movie. I think a different movie title would have more appropriate. 10,000 BC brings to mind that silly movie with Ringo Starr or the other one with Racquel Welch. This movie is nothing like either of those. Worth the download. Very entertaining.
