Got to say I prefer DoNEs release imdb states this was shot as a 2.35 movie which DoNEs is (2.353) HLS is a 1.85 (1.762) release ?

but not quite sure - from reading nfo - does this mean the Done release was not the full version, as it just says different Cut at 86mins....so how long is this version? (also bearing in mind with it being a pal version the runtime will be a bit diff)....and is it supposedly different scenes or endings or something?

I watched all of the hls release and compared it to some of the done release. its strange, but both are different cuts, with different diagloue, reordered scenes. its not like most movies where there is an extended version with more stuff ie obvious extra scenes. so picking which one is not so straightfoward as I woudlntn say there is a clear "better" one to get such as unrated vs rated(where one has more stuff and nothing cut out).
anyone see this in the theatres can say which version is the USA release? i'm guessing hls is the R1 dvd while the other is europe.

this is very subtle, and probably best explained with an example. overall the done release is a tighter cut of the movie with many scenes shorter compared to the hls one. in the begining they show a car racing down the street. in done they only show about 2 angles of the car, in the hls version there are several more angles adding about 10 seconds. the narration that christiani ricci gives in the beginning is different when she explains the curse, sometimes its more other times its just different. in the hls she says "who was eating for 2" when they show the pregant maid, in the done this line is dropped but they still show the maid. in done she says the witch cast the curse to make them feel what her daugther felt, in hls this line is gone and replaced with something else. another scene in done there is a song played with female vocals and during it you can hear reese whiterspoons talking while in the hls it is only piano music, no vocals and you can't hear what reese whiterspoon says, just see her lips moving. also they show a scene of them on a motorcyle talking to each other while riding. in done that is shown at the beginning when the music is played, with hls its shown several cuts later.
so here both versions have the same scenes except different music played, scenes are reordered and in two scenes you hear reese talking while the other you can't.

They have all been European releases so far all PAL, most times UK releases are the same as US but the rest of Europe can differ

The US trailer has AR 2.35 and German has AR 1.85 its unusual to have a different aspect trailer from the actual release so I
wouldn't be surprised if the US release was the same as DoNEs

Of course I could be wrong but don't really care

I thought this rls was very good in all departments, dont mind if it is different cut from Dones rls.

Very entertaining film my GF wanted it and I was not so fussed but it turned out to be really good and is one to be bought from Play and added to the collection.
