I remember the days we lived in shoe boxes and comunicated face to face.
These new fangled devices bah humgub.
i've got an mp3 player the size of wales, ppl look and stare i bought it 3 years ago out of argos 40 GB 50 quid, it fell out my pocket when i was wiping my arse into shitty water, it still works.
i have £50 phone it works.

What is my point?
fucked if i know

Looks really cool. Where do you see it for £60-£70?

Posted by 404notfound on 05-25-2008 04:33 PM:

I've only been looking around ebay, but a mate said he would dig out a website where he saw it for £50 plus £15 for shipping

Ebay shops are selling them for £60 - £80 brand new, but you need to pay shipping on top. Most are sent from Chinaland or Japan

link me do....

Why not buy the iphone for £170, you don't sign up for a contract there and then it only starts when you activate through itunes, then jailbreak/unlock with the freeware one click software thats out there and stick your own sim it?
Better than buying that generic chinese crap.
Just my 2 pissy pence.

Because it doesn't work like that anymore. From what I understand, you have to buy the phone by debit card and if you don't subscribe, O2 will debit your card the full amount of the tariff. People got away with buying the phone with cash from Carphone Warehouse until O2 clamped down.

Besides....the legit one still costs 100 quid more, can't do mms and cant shoot video.

AFAIK you were never able to buy them for cash, had few m8's get them.

Posted by David Cameron on 05-25-2008 06:22 PM:

It doesn't really make much business sense, they'd sell twice as many if they hadn't gayed up with O2 exclusivity.

I hate O2 so I say fuck em, Generic Chinese crap ftw.

Posted by Avenue_1 on 05-25-2008 07:23 PM:

I dunno, imagine chattin up a woman and you have to use your phone, and she says "oh is that one of those fancy iphones?" do you tell her it's generic chinese crap or do you tell her it's an iphone. Just wouldn't Feel right using borderline fake goods.

"Is that an Iphone?"

"Yes it is, you can't borrow it, get your knickers off"

End of conversation.

Indeed

I've decided to go for one of these, just going to spend a few hours shopping around first. I have a 2GB SD card which is more than enough for my needs and it has the bonus of being able to send and receive MMS and also shoot video, which the iPhone can't. Plus a dual sim slot will come in handy.

When the got reduced a shit load of people bought them from a forum i'm on and the thing is you keep the contract you sign, so you can just put it in the bin when you get home as legally they have nothing on you.

The whole knickers thing has really sold it for me

Are you getting it over eBay or did you get that magic link?

But men don't wear knickers!

Posted by 404notfound on 05-25-2008 10:52 PM:

Ebay, I'm afraid. My mate found the link, but it was for the older model, the P168+ which you can see here....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZSJqKRqMIQ

...and isn't as good as the A88.

I'll let you know how I get on with using it to get into girls knickers
