-- Petrol prices! (http://www.vcdhq.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=81346)
Petrol prices!
All these examples do NOT imply that petrol is cheap; it just illustrates how outrageous some prices are....
You will be really shocked by the last one!
(At least, I was...)
Compared with Petrol......
Think a gallon of petrol is expensive?
This makes one think, and also puts things in perspective.
Diet Snapple 16 oz £1.29 .. £10.32 per gallon
Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz £1.19 ...........£9.52 per gallon
Ocean Spray 16 oz £1.25 ......... £10.00 per gallon
Brake Fluid 12 oz £3.15 ...... £33.60 per gallon
Vick's Nyquil 6 oz E8.35 ... £178.13 per gallon
Pepto Bismol 4 oz £3.85 . £123.20 per gallon
Tippex 7 oz £1.39 ....... . $£5.42 per gallon
And this is the REAL KICKER...
Evian water 9 oz £1.49..£21.19 per gallon! £21.19 for WATER and the buyers don't even know the source
(Evian spelled backwards is Naive.)
You don't even want to compare it with perfume or after shave.
Ever wonder why printers are so cheap?
So they have you hooked for the ink.
Someone calculated the cost of the ink at................
(you won't believe it....but it is true........)
£5,200 a gal.. (five thousand two hundred pounds)
So, the next time you're at the pump,be glad your car doesn't run on water, or Tippex, Pepto Bismol, Nyquil or God forbid, Printer Ink!
Just a little humour to help ease the pain of your next trip to the petrol pump...
I need a piss after reading that.
I have a bp card...........work funded
who gives a fuck

who matters,
who never did,
who won't any more...
and who always will.
So, don't worry about people from your past,
there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.
The prices heaped onto UK drivers via various taxes is enough to put me off driving for life. I've had lessons and *can* drive (just not legally) but all I ever hear from car owners is how much it fucking sucks... Considering how rarely I make long distance journeys, I'll stick with public transport; it's hard to drive a car and play on the DS! Sometimes people mention the "freedom" that having a car brings but I'll stick with the financial freedom that not owning a car brings.
Good points though Butch, I remember Jeremy Clarkson pointing similar out... When you consider the lengths gone to in petrol production, it's quite cheap but cars are very thirsty

Yeah, we are at $4 a gallon now here in the states, looking at $4.50 though the so called experts say we wont see $5 but I ain't holding my breath. Dropping an average of $60-$80 a day, 6 days a week average out to about $300-$400 a week. All thanks here in the states to dumbass environmental wackos and the democrats who refuse to allow us to drill for our own oil (Anwar, Dakotas, Western states including Colorado, offshore, etc.) Meanwhile, the fucking Chinese are drilling offshore 75 miles from Miami. Fuck the Caribou Moose and Dall Sheep, I want my gas at $1 a gallon!

FOr the people in the states: I have a business contact whose company just entered into a contract with BIG NAME OIL company, said oil barons just got guberment release to drill several new wells off coast in AK and in the arctic (despite the liberals crying to protect the polar bear). We'll see what it does for us.
People I know in the business are saying that our street prices will hit a national average of 6-7 dollars a gallon this year. I don't own a car now, but I am buying one in 2 weeks. I'll drive if it is 12 bucks a gallon and not bitch. WHy? because I'm too fucking lazy to walk across town and I can't stand the mong brigade who ride the public transport here, and taking a cab is the same or more cost to drive it my own damn self.

I just started using public transit to commute to work in the U.S. instead of drive and so far i like it. Being able to space out for an extra 15 minutes on the way to work is fucking gold
The way every person commutes here by car and no one carpools or generally gives a shit is so wasteful. There are millions of douchbags riding around in big empty 4x4 v8 pickups.
Transportation in general blows here. The whole west coast was planned out assuming fuel would always be cheap and it is really starting to suck ass with the ever climbing costs.

Thinking about it, the one place this raise in crude price has hit me the hardest is my blank media.
Optical media prices have doubled and in some cases almost tripled.
FUCK
Damnit
Shit
