itunes alternatives

i asked this once before and mystic came up with a good app(for the time)....but now i need some more features


due to my expanding library(73 GB) i need to compress my mp3s before they transfer to the ipod.....i found an app called musicmonkey that does this on the fly....the only problem is it wont load 5000+ songs out of 20000.....it worked for a few months but now its crapping out

and oh yeah...i dont want to create a second library just for the ipod....so i need to do it on the fly

what do you mean compress them?
do you mean transcode them to a lower bitrate so that they sound even worse than they did previously?

dude, just buy an mp3 player with a bigger hdd - or accept the fact that you cant store your entire music collection on your mp3 player.

ipods sound bad enough with 320kbps mp3's, never mind 2nd generation 128kbps mp3's - damn!

if you saw the shit headfones my girl is content to wear with a smile you would understand....i could plug them into a transistor radio and you wouldnt notice sound quality

and i think i found the right setting on the monkey....but thanx for caring..
