Some films should never be remade and this is one of them. Even at best it can only be as good as the original and at worst a total disaster like War of the Worlds.

^^ Well said.

Granted, War of the Worlds was tripe and Invasion was even worse but I am going to go for third time lucky with this remake and say its going to rock.

Also. Bring back Quatermass.

No... Bring back Buck Rogers!

These sci-fi remakes will fail on a grand scale until a director realises that people >can< spot CGI from a mile away, no matter how good it is, your brain just knows it looks wrong and therefore you can't rely on it to tell the story... You need good acting and good dialogue just like the "olden days" but now you don't have to rely on crappy models for sfx.

Agreed.

I don't know if it's true, but apparently Gort (the robot) is going to be a dog in this???

I can see it all ending in tears...and hopefully it does. Maybe then the cunts in Hollywood will stop ripping off their predecessors that had (and peers in other countries that still have) genuine talent and creativity.

The original was great, I'm not to keen on a remake of course, never am.

War of the Worlds wasn't bad at all, It was at least entertaining, but again it's a fucking remake, I'm kind of glad they kept the ending the same, that helped. Usually they change everything. They seem to want to call it a vision....All I can say is whatever dude, lol.

Well, If you want to get technical The new Batman is a remake, This remake if you say is/was very warranted. Batman with Keaton/Nicholson was pure shit.

I thought Batman 89 was ok, not as good as Heath Ledger joker but if you have to blame someone then blame Tim Burton he's the director "his vision"
Me wonders if he wears beer goggles too

No probs ns let the party continue

Has anyone else seen this yet? After reading the reviews there was NO way in hell I was going to pay to see it. I'm glad a decent TS came out.

The movie was pretty damn good until the last 30 minutes, then it went down the shitter.

With that being said just watch the first hour then turn it off. That's what I should have done.

Watched it last night on he strength of the ads which make it look like an action filled SFX spectacular.

Little did I realise that all the action and SFX are already in the trailer

I think it's fair to say the War of the World remake was better As shit as that was at least you could switch off and try to enjoy the SFX.

Visuals: disappointing.
Storyline: eco-consciousness squeezed in between cheese twister dialogue and scenarios (mostly between mum and child): "No mom, he's going home" - fuck off you nappy-haired little cunt!)
Everything else: Jenny keeps her tits buttoned in this one, that's how bad it is!

5.12334432/10

That about sums it up. Heres my rating

The first hour 3 out of 4 stars, the last 1/2 hour -4 out of 4 stars
