virus help

Ok, I didnt listen to a NOD32 warning upon installing a program thinking it picked up the crack.
I know I know

Now I have got rid of Im guessing 98 %

I will tell you what it was but my problem is this

I think its somehow attached itself to my clock in the taskbar saying "VIRUS ALERT"

I have hid all warnings from nod and windows so its not them, thats why i think its the virus

I dont think there is anything else as I have run NOD, spybot, adaware, cccleaner until all was clean

all in safe mode

It attached itself to convertx so uninstalled that

The prick was called "VSO Software CopyToDVD v4.0.14.14-TE"

Thanks for any advice..........

Smitfraud

Download SDFix from here

I'm sure thats what got rid of it from my old mans laptop.

Needless to say the "virus" is simply the warning itself and the point of it is to try to get you to pay for software to get rid of the message. My dad paid before he asked me (muppet) and guess what? Yup, more messages.

Hope the link helps.

I used that about 6 months ago on a similar problem but very minor.

but the funny thing is, it didnt do what that just did

I better review my source.......

spybot picked mine up and kicked its arse

so i just completed that one and works a treat.....

thanks again

No probs mate.

We run Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition here and it still allowed it in on 2 pc's.

Little fuckers deserve to have their cocks peeled and pickled in vinegar if you ask me.

NO! Its bloatware in the extreme and has a terrible effect on your pc's performance. Its just a legacy of choosing it in the first place and not being bothered to do anything about it since.
