i.p blocking?

Not sure if this is the right place to be putting this thread. I have emailed vcdquality a number of times about not being able to access vcd forums.
When I attempt to, I am given a white screen with no links.
I used a proxy and sure enough, I am able to connect to forums.
Question: Is VcdQuality ip blocking Comcast ip's ?
Please any help would be appreciated.
Member since 2005.

did you try another broswer before use the proxy ? I got the white screens when I test php/mysql pages and the broswer (IExplorer) didn't get in time data from server. For example with a long sql query the web server could start sending some incomplete bytes (while the cpu calculate the query and become a zombie), the broswer instead of display timeout error print a white screen.

The VCDQuality feedback page is defunct and needs updating which needs to be kick-started by X69 so your mail isn't being ignored, it's just not reaching us.

As for the main issue, we don't block Comcast IP addresses. PM me your actual IP address and I'll check the blocked list to see if it's in there for some reason.

I have tried both Firefox and IE with cache cleaned out and all popup blockers and script stoppers turned off with no luck.
I can only join the Forum if I use a proxy.
Although I can view the VcdQuality main page without the proxy.

There's no IP addresses currently blocked *at all* on this forum. VB has also logged you coming from various IP's...

My advice is to try flushing your cache and cookies.

Yeah, I did spot that when I got his PM. It used to be packed with IP addresses/subnets so I'm assuming you cleared it fairly recently.

I have already tried clearing the cache and have gone as far as re-installing firefox, clearing all FF registry entries but still, I can only join the forum through the use of a proxy..
I can connect to the main web page but not any pages related to the forum.

** Update ** ok pulled my wifes old laptop out of the closet and accessed the forums and it had no problems. I've never run into anything like this before, there must be a corrupt Windows file somewhere.

Okay this helped me correct IE but not Firefox

Link: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=816405 but instead of turning it on, I turned it off and now IE can connect to the forum.

I tried an earlier version of Firefox but I still get a blank white screen.. This is very strange.. I cleaned out all folders and registry entries before re-install.

I tried Opera and it displays a white screen also, only IE with http protocol 1.1 turned off will join forums.. I am open to any ideas

I found the culprit! BitDefender Antivirus 2009.. It comes with intergrated antiphishing that becomes part of IE & Firefox.
Even tho I shut down the antiphishing portion, it was still, somehow blocking Vcdqualities Forums.. I added the Forums to the "WhiteList" to no avail.. Anyways I thought I would post this information to anyone thinking about installing Bitdefender.
