Pre-installed crap on new laptop
So I took a look at this new HP laptop I got, and it's full of crap such as:
MS Office 2007 60-day trial
McAfee Antivirus trial
AOL search bar embedded in IE7
+ numerous HP tools and security software
The AOL thing annoyingly has no obvious uninstall method, and I'm sure I don't need half of the stuff on here (File Sanitizer?)
You don't get an OS disc with it either, it's all on a recovery partition.
Thinking it's going to take a while to go through and uninstall everything, would it not just be quicker to download a Vista OS disc and reinstall using the OEM key stuck to the bottom of the laptop?

The bad news is it won't remove AOL and if you ever activate the recovery partition it will reinstall all the crapware which originally shipped with the laptop.
Wipe and install dodgy copy of vista... your oem key will not work.
