-- Plugging in two drives. (http://www.vcdhq.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=83145)
Plugging in two drives.
So I have a cd-rom drive and then my dvd/cd burner, and for some reason I can't seem to figure out how to have them both plugged in and work. I want to copy some games I have, but I can only get one drive to read the disc that is inserted (i.e. when both drives are plugged up). Any idea on what to do (if you can understand what I am saying)? Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing that they're IDE drives, be sure to check the master/slave settings on the drives... you can only have one of each on each IDE ribbon cable. The master is at the end of the ribbon, and the slave is in the middle. It's better if they're on different ribbons for transferring, bus speeds and what not, but either way, between your hard drive(s) and opticals you need to sort the master/slave order.

Read zoidys comment for clarification.
Thank you, I'll have to have a look at how things are set up.
