Dish Network

I have a dish network vip722 i am trying to connect it to my router so i can play movies on my tv. the usb has a auto reformat program can put movies on from the box but can't play from usb stick so i can't play movies on a 2 G stick, it won't reconize it . if someone knows how to do this please respond to this thread
