My Christmas present to myself
"Santa" has visited the kids, and I've just ordered 50 inches of 1080P goodness:

Welcome to the club, hook your pc up and enjoy

very nice, love my 52", never thought HD and all that would impress me as much as it does but certain things are just amazing on it, I never like watching football (american, the type that matters
) on a standard def set now.
Well it's a very nice telly, but unfortunately it's going back. There are about a dozen dead pixels in the panel, including two adjacent ones right in the centre of the screen, noticeable as a dark speck from the usual viewing position.
Dixons were being arseholes about replacing it, so we demanded our money back instead.
Then, lo and behold, the same telly is on their site the next day £50 cheaper (£649.99) - so we reordered it.
Now checking the site I see it's gone right back up to £849.99! But they've already taken the money and promised delivery within 14 days, so let's see what happens...
I wish you luck on getting a Television that doesn't have any defects.

To be honest, the other dead pixels aren't noticeable unless you're standing next to the screen, and I'd accept it if that were the case. It was just bad luck that two dead pixels ended up next to each other in the centre of the display.
