VHS SCREENER

This is a VHS screener.
I wish they'd stop lying.

M - 8

This is a VHS fullscreen screener
that has been rendered as 16:9
but it's not widescreen, just look
at the cropped sample pictures!
The 3rd guy on the top picture is
completely cut off and on the
bottom picture the two cops are
cropped heavilly - the original image
shows the two cops plus background
on their right & left, come on this is
a Ridley Scott movie he doesn't film
cropped like that! I don't know what
Pukka is saying but they're trying to
pull a fast one on us - hell these two
releases (This and Pride & Glory) are
even labeled SCREENER which is how
you label a VHS FS SCREENER, not
DVD SCR which is widescreen DVD.
I don't understand their babbling in
their NFO about nukers and analog
to digital either - if the source was
a DVD or BLURAY it would be digital,
only if it was VHS would it be analog.

I think its a WS VHS Screener - those VHS tapes that had the
black strips on the top and bottom of the screen when I played
them on my ancient 4:3 CRT TV back then.
It doesn't feel cropped from the sample, but I'll see the whole
thing tomorrow and then I'll be sure.

AMMENDMENT

Okay - The pictures on vcdquality
are not proper. The movie does appear
to be in the proper aspect ratio.
However, it probably is a VHS SCREENER,
just a widescreen one like the poster
before this says. As for the black bars
they are normal because widescreen is
the proper aspect. (They are not adding black bars they are zooming out the rectangular theatrical image - notice the
shape of a theatre screen is rectangular? They film it in this shape and anything not in this shape is fucked/destroyed by cropping.)

My rerating:

A - HI-FI stereo vhs rip, decent
V - Widescreen VHS - decent but vhs
M - 8 (Not the best but it's still Ridley!)

WTF do you want? this on blueray already?.Its free anyway.

Guys... SCREENER means VHS SCREENER as opposed to DVD SCREENER so it's labelled correctly.

Thanks - a good watchable copy..

It's like a really really nice TS with really nice audio, but I'm not doubting whatsoever that its a WS VHS Screener
