Benjamin Button
Only half way through - stopped to watch Boro stuff the manc scum - and it's a damn long film, weighing in at just under 3hrs, so my joy could yet be cruelly shattered.
He's just gone to war following his meetings with Tilda, and in truth the film has barely begun yet I'm 75mins in! It's a wonderful tale, far better than the book, and beautifully constructed.
I'll post back when complete, but I think on what I've had so far it'd have to by abysmal in the 2nd half to let me down.
And I can't believe it's 3yrs since this: http://forum.vcdq.com/showthread.ph...hlight=benjamin I remember searching for the book and reading it like it was yesterday

Well...hmmm...the second half was competent, complete, thorough....and, well, I can't think of any other words that say 'matter of fact with no surprises'. It was the tale of a man who gets younger as he ages...which is exactly what you get. There's a touch of Amelie, but only in sprinkles, nothing to really get your teeth into. There's a love story - which is principally what the movie is - but it neither rips at the heartstrings nor knots your stomach with the impossibilities of relationships. There are issues, they're dealt with. End of.
Not disappointed as such, just not overawed...which I expected to be from a Fincher/Pitt combo - they've delivered two of the movies I've ever watched most repeat viewings of. Am glad to have watched this, but doubt very much I will watch this again any time in the next decade.

EDIT: and fucking scum beat shitty boro

How can we judge your movie opinion when you say ridiculous things like "stopped to watch Boro stuff the manc scum "
You are obviously not of sound mind, but not too far gone to add the blindingly obvious conclusion of
"EDIT: and fucking scum beat shitty boro"
Don't take offence, its only about 22 grown men chasing a little ball about on the grass.

Na, Baha doesn't have taste in movies, He's liked some crap in the past, lol.
Just fuckin with ya man.
A man has been shot at a Philadelphia cinema for talking during a showing of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
The unidentified man, who was talking to his son while watching the Brad Pitt drama, was shot with a .380-calibre gun by an infuriated James Joseph Cialella Jr.
Cialella allegedly confronted the father and fired the weapon, hitting him in his left arm. Cialella then sat down and continued to watch the movie before police arrived at the Riverview Theatre to arrest him.
Police spokesman Lt. Frank Vanore told the Philadelphia Inquirer: "It's truly frightening when you see something like this evolve into such violence."
Cialella has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons violations.

I bet he talked through the lead-up to the Amelie / taxi cab bit...almost understandable reaction!

I wasn't overly familiar with the story before watching it. It was O.K, perhaps a little on the long side. I'd say its similarly paced and has a similar feel to The Green Mile, except without any surprises.
Even though I didn't know much about the story beforehand, just from imdb's plot and the opening 15 minutes I knew what I was in for, but, despite the whole feeling of inevitability, it was still enjoyable enough to sit through (in 2 sittings).
::Bakkoda, there was a dvd screener out a few days ago
Edit:: Who cares about Man United and Middlesborough, the only team worth caring about is the team at the top of the league... League 1, up the foxes.
