no sync issues until converting from avi to mpeg
rating based on before converting 9/9/5
after convering 9/3/5
i use magic video converter to do the converting

To the previous poster, TMPGenc 4.0 Xpress works great (and I have never noticed this software making problems with the MPEG where there were none present in the AVI) but it might take three hours to convert a typical AVI. ConvertXtoDVD 3 works just as well and is about three times as fast with the typical conversion taking about one hour. Find it here:

Perhaps its just me, but it seems like this goes slightly out of sync around the 30 min mark and has yet to recover (around 35 mins at this point). The audio is slightly before the video. Seems like it looks unnoticeable at points but at other times is very noticeable.
