and the sample JPG, lol does not look like its from this movie, even though it is, lol

Another nice release from DiAMOND, and another entertaining movie from Guy Ritchie.

Nothing? Hrmm... perhaps you heard of a little film called "The Dark Knight" ... "Gran Torino" was a good movie but I wouldnt go as far as to say nothing could compare to it.

ok sorry about that, ok THE DARK NIGHT, BENJAMIN BUTTON, are the only 2 movies that can COMPARE............ ...... BUT, thats just COMPARE......... not BEAT,

The Wrestler ,hands down best movie of the last two yrs .Gran torino was good the Wrestler was superb.

Nice rip from diamond video is ok audio seems slightly muffled 8/7/5 typical Guy Richie film .Only decent film he ever made was lock stock.Gotta agree about gran torino tho, best film I've seen in a while.Also thought Cadillac records was great but music rocks my boat tho.

Does anyone know if the subtitles are needed for this release? The audio is english, but most Guy Ritchie films usually make use of subtitles for added effect - even if the person is speaking english (ex. Brad Pitt in Snatch).

Dark Night is the top movie in US this year. However, for best movie, I'd have to say it goes to Slumdog Millionaire. Torino was a good movie, but not the best of the year--IMO.

There are (english) hard subs in the movie for scenes where russian language is used.

And they also provided a sub pack in the release for french , spanish and english

Watched this earlier, sorry cannot agree with comments I thought it was a great film, and the quality was brilliant I converted with convertxtodvd and no probs at all, all in sync and sound pretty good

A few subs for the russian spoken bits but nothing to detract from film

overall

Thought this thread was just to comment on quality of Rocknrolla!

We all have such different tastes in films maybe comments could be kept to movie thread is about

Best Since Snatch By Far...

Ritchie's best by far since Snatch.

As for Gran T I'd put it waaaaaay farther down the list behind all of the following:

Låt den rätte komma in
Revolutionary Road
Slumdog Millionaire
The Wrestler
Benjamin Button

I think the Globes got it right. A few have said Eastwood was unfairly snubbed. Torino may be worth a watch and recommendation but I personally think it's far less award worthy than all of the above.

Good movie a little long in telling the story, then again most uk plots can feel that way. Not Guy Ritchies best work or his worse.
All & all, great acting with sometimes funny believable charters.

after a nights sleep, found myself chuckling and talking about the movie Must have been better than first felt about it

I'm not a great fan of Guy Ritchie's movies but I very much enjoyed this. Some terrifically funny moments and very interesting characters interweaved in a good story. Thanks to Diamond for a great rip.
