Is gezzer running a mac? For quickness and ease (if you have some basic knowledge) Adobe Dreamweaver for the win. Available in PC and Mac versions.

Dreamweaver isn't what he needs you douche
As homobo mentioned I used to use Notepad, lol.
I like the pretty colors with other editors. Also makes things sooooo much easier
For windows I do recommend Notepad++ it's simple and easy to use.
PSPpad for a very good multi language code editor, officaly free as well.,
Although as much as I disgust myself, Visual studio 2005/8 does have some pretty funky Intelli Sense.
Means you can be really lazy and not need to look up the details of HTML and CSS tags etc
Purrrdy colours too.
Thanks, I'll try visual studio.

Should just be aware that Visual Studio does not generate web compliant code through its default forms and may lead other browsers besides IE (and occasionally IE itself) to display the page incorrectly.
