AVS versus Convert X

Does anyone know what the pro's and con's are between AVS and VSO when it comes to converting X264. I know that the maximum resolution with VSO is 420p not sure on AVS (only used it once ) .
Edit>
Avs load of bollox its just nero vision 3 in disguise.Gave it a right go takes 3 hrs (vso 20 mins) to convert a 2 hr avi.Chaptering has to be done manually, tools are none existant.
