better dvd copy than Nero?

Hey guys!

Right now i use Nero 8 to make copies of DvDs.
I like it cuz it uses my source drive and creates the image (from my samsung dvd drive) and burns it multiple times to my destination drive (an external memorex) without having to remake the temp image.

Programs like '1 click DVD copy' take way too long because it keeps remaking the temp image and doesn't let me set it to make 2+ copies.

And anydvd wont read my K drive.
Says theres "No disc found" even when i have a disc in it.

Are there any programs better than Nero for doing this?

I don't know if it has the functons you want/need but it has all the functions I use. Cdburnerxp works great and it's free.

infrarecorder is another one open source and easy to use application.

That dvdshrink and the imgburn look really awesome.

I also got the cdburnerxp program too.

Sadly though i think ive come across a huge problem.

Without all the details:
The reason i wanted a new program was because the "Copy Entire DVD" button mysteriously vanished from the program that i paid for.
Also it wont allow me to Create a DVD using NeroVision anymore. it will only allow me to burn it as a recorded image and not directly to my destination drive.

for what reason would an application from a program disappear?

Well after becoming angry and frustrated i decided to research different/better software.

I now have imgburn and dvdshrink and cdburnerxp..

But imgburn and cdburnerxp will not detect my writer drive

imgburn and cdburnerxp keep saying
"No writer detected"

hmmmm.

this could be why those applications dissapeared from nero.

Then when i test my drivers...
they all say they're working fine.

I tried to do a system restore on my PC.
that wont work either because system restore wont work too! lol

hmm maybe its a virus thats effecting my drivers.

Well now im even more anxious to fix this because i want to learn how to use dvdshrink and imgburn.
those programs look so awesome.

Any suggestions?

Try asking in the Imgburn support forum, they're usually very helpful.

Try upgrading the firmware on your drive or just install a new burner easy to do and they cost less than 20 quid now.

Unwritten temporary files? Could be causing the drive to claim it's locked when it isn't.

Check this article here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060

Did you recently installed / uninstalled any cd / dvd related software such as daemon tools, PowerISO etc?

Does bios recognizes your hardware normally ?

Posted by Scannerdarkly on 04-28-2009 10:02 PM:

I got it working again by removing every other dvd related program.

AND NOW IM HAPPY AS FUCK WITH imgburn and dvd shrink

HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY
HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY

HAPPY AS FUCK!

Nero Recode 2 was devised by the same guy as previously authored DVDshrink and in my opinion isn't even as good.
