German video, not bad, my opinion better than the Russian copy floating around. Cropping on this one is much better than that of the previous one... why did it take such a long time to get a scene release of this? anyway, enjoy this film... not sure if i will, not a trekkie...

this is not the same source as the German video of the previous release, has more credits included and it does seem a tad darker, but right now i assume i can feel this is the best copy out... now for a brilliant copy of Angels and Demons and Terminator... one can only hope...

Watched whole thing this afternoon.

Very watchable. Very nice sound.

Not much missed due to video problems (dark scenes with some ships but nothing horrible)

Definite 8/8/9

Surprised me as a movie; did not have high expectations and it really was a good flick.

It's too damn dark! Cropping is much better overall, and sound is decent.

I will be filtering through TMPGEnc 4 to fix the lighting and colors. Overall thank you Kamera!

Finally a version with full frame video and opening credits. Videowise it's the best around.

Video is nice, old cinema, less crop, almost no angle. Very dark. With some minimal change settings @ your cam you can fix this . Also why not dvd-ts, if the source is good enough~!. Audio very nice, first few minutes its cam audio, after some minutes its nice line audio. Congrats kamera!

Aarrrgh. . . Great, thanks, not overlycropped BUT now grainy and dark. The prior copy was clearer and watchable BUT had a hunk of video cropped off the top and left side. If this were Slumdog Millionaire, that's fine, but this is Star Trek! You have GOT to go see this in a huge theater OR wait for a crisp undropped version.

Waiting for the next one, and headed back to IMAX itmt.

the days of quality telesyncs are gone
this struggles to get a 6
devise has better quality but a bad crop
so really no decent copies of this around
only just watchable 1s
ill wait for r5 prob due mid june with any luck

Saw it in IMAX last night... after DLing and watching the movie - iI just had to see in big screen. GO see it!!

I ran this through TMPG to see if I might improve the video (color and brightness), but it was still pretty grainy though brighter and more watchable.

just about watchable 5/7/8 I would stick with the devise version.

Looked at the sample and agree with the other posters here. It's grainy and dark. I looked at the Devise sample and thought that was a keeper until I downloaded it: massive crop. This Kamera release doesn't seem to be as badly cropped however.
