New TV and stuff

I know this looks like a dupe thread but I'm looking for any NEW deals people here may have spotted. Any recent bargains caught your eye?

Looking for a new TV for my spare room. 37 inch is big enough, could may be go for a 40 if its a good enough deal.

Have any of you seen any amazingly good deals lately? I love a bargain and I love extras, could do with a console to go with it so if you've spotted any good xbox/ps3 TV bundles let me know.

Trying to keep the price below £500 if possible but will go to £700 if I think its worth it. With cash in my pocket during a recession I expect a good deal. No shady websites plz, I want full guarantees and shite.

goto your local tech street and shop around, settle on one the barter with the dude face 2 face.
yes websites are struggling, but high street stores are feeling it worse.
better deals to be had.

plus nothing beats seeing the tv in the flesh, better as well for warranty claims.

where are you, uk usa?

Got an eshot from eBuyer the other day, F&H 42" under £500, with a three year warranty:

F&H = ebuyer's rebranding of no-name manufactured goods.

No problem with that of course as long as the product you receive is quality, but the chances of an unknown producing unbranded and using quality components would seem unlikely...and the chances that ebuyer has legions of quality control staff...

Agreed, but their other products do get high user reviews and it's a "backup" set. For a living room set I'd demand a better name, but I have a Vistron in my exercise room and it works fine - freeview and DVD built in, does the job for 40-minute stints

I still don't fancy an obscure brand.

Thanks for the advice Arthur, I'm Australian by the way. I was considering going to the high street to pay over the counter. Some of the deals i've seen on the internet point to websites of stores that have highstreet outlets. Gonna go take a look today.

This looks lke quite a good deal, a 42" 1080p screen for less than £500 (no freeview, no SCARTs and only one HDMI though, so might be problematic to connect up).

Its funny you should post that one because i'm just on my to Richer Sounds now. My nearest one is only half a mile up the road.

I went to the shop. It was on London Road, Leicester, Australia. Surprise surprise they had none of the 42 inch left in stock, only the same model but 37 inch. Still a good price at £450, I think thats gonna be the one I get.

Let the salesman stew for a bit, i'm in no rush, i'll go back Monday and offer him 400

Fuck it, got impatient. I ordered a LG 42LH3000 from Dixons.

Used the TV5 Discount code to get 5% off, paid a total of £577

Now just need a 360 to go with it. If any of you reprobates spot a good consoles/games package let me know. If the seller looks genuine enough I might even be prepared to buy a used one if the extra's are sufficiently worth it.

steer clear of a used one

buy a retail one and find the right motherboard
im not upto date with the latest/best mobo combo

But im sure a chav/emo/geek @ "gamestation" will point you in the right direction !

And most importantly give me your gamer tag when your online for clan-age pwnage

Get a PS3. Watch blu-ray porn and play the best games with the best graphics, and it means you can play with the big boys

PS3 has many great exclusives, with many more to come

GTAIV sucked arse

Blu-ray is da present and da future (for the time being)

PS3 can play x264 without having to encode it*

What you on about 50 digit friend code??? You have a name you use and that's it.

Free online with PS3 too.

PS3 has a couple exclusive titles

GTAIV: I give you that one, lol

Blu-ray: Yeah until something better comes out like you said

Native .x264 support? Since when?

Digital Friend Code? No clue what he's on about

Free online gaming? Yeah but it's not nearly as nice as Microsofts service. No Netflix either.

Well its going to be an XBOX. Most of the people I know with consoles have XBOX. Fun as it would be to completely pwn Ave at every single game available i'd rather broaden my scope.

Darlo, which game are you most into right now? I'm going to go Gamestation on Friday to pick up a bundle.

To be honest cupid

For sheer "playbackability" cod4* wins hands down, on and offline!!
gears of war 1 & 2 are a must !

*With modern warfare 2 in the pipeline
