Official White Oleander Movie Review

When it comes to Dramas, no actress has made better movies than actress Michelle Pffeifer.

Based on the best selling novel by Janet Fitch, White Oleander tells the story of a 15 year old girl Astrid, played by newcomer Allison Lohman, who is forced to mature at an early age into womanhood, because her mom Ingrid, played by Pffeifer kills her abusive boyfriend.

Witnessing her mom's arrest, Astrid goes through a tramatic experience into going through a series of Foster homes, foster mom's include Robin Wright Penn and Renee Zellwegger, and becoming mature thanks to her imprisoned mother.

White Oleander is supremely acted and marks Pffeifer's best theatrical performance, and may give her that long overdue oscar, and Lohman should be commended in her break through performance for a newcomer.

White Oleander is rated PG13 for language and a scene of violence.

My Rating: 10 out of 10. a solid A+

I haven't seen this movie and i am not hating on u but u seem to be very generous with ur rating. i would imagine that hardly 1-3 movies a year can up to 10/10 and u already said red dragon 10 and this one . also u gave tuck everlasting 9/10 while i read review that gave it less than 5/10. Also u said alot of good things about 8 mile but u gave it only 8.5.

if u care to explain the way u pick the # rating ,that might help understand ur review..

Peace

Thanks MG, was waiting for your review on this one and must say i've heard rave comments from many others on this movie too. Should be a goodie.

...plus Michelle Pfieffer is just so damn fuckable (so is her sister).

true very true which is why I was kind of disappointed she isn't in new Catwoman movie coming out next year. but happy to report its Ashley Judd, which falls into your category.

Sorry, didn't see your question.

How I rate the films is based on acting, plot, and overall quality if I care about the plot, 8 Mile is a good movie, good enough for oscar consideration, but because of Eminem's character, I took that into consideration.

Tuck Everlasting was simply a good adaptation that I found complelling. I have a weird system, but it works.

Not everyone agrees with my reviews, but most of the time, they say yeah you are right.

I don't think they would give him a nomination because he represents everything they hate, but if anyone might get nominated would be Kim Bassinger for playing his mom, or Curtis Hanson for Direction.

It was alright, but I like good Disney stories, but the audience, box office wise did not.
