One time, my cousin Walter got this cat stuck in his ass. True story. He bought it at our local mall so the whole fiasco wound up on the news, it was embarrassing for my relatives and all, but the next week he did it again, different cat, same results, complete with another trip to the emergency room! So I run into him a week later in the mall and he’s buying another cat and I says to ‘em "Jesus Walt, what are you doing? You know your just gonna get this cat stuck up your ass too, why don’t you knock it off?" And he says to me "Brodie, how the hell else am I supposed to get the gerbil out?" My cousin was a weird guy....

KiSS Technology to Release First DivX ™ Compatible DVD Player
KiSS DVD Player DP-450 Offers Playback of Videos Encoded in DivX 4.xx and 5.xx
October 22, 2002--San Diego, CA and Hørsholm, Denmark— DivXNetworks, Inc, the company that created the revolutionary patent-pending DivX ™ video compression technology, and KiSS Technology, a leading Scandinavian manufacturer of DVD products throughout the world, today announced that the DP-450 from KiSS Technology is the first DVD player to offer compatibility with certain versions of DivX video technology.
The KiSS DP-450, set for release in late October, will enable playback of videos encoded in DivX versions 4.xx and 5.xx. Additionally, the two companies are working closely together to develop future products that will be “DivX Certified” and offer full compatibility with all versions of DivX video. DivX video compression technology, often called the “MP3 of video,” offers 7-10 times greater compression than MPEG-2 technology with no loss in visual quality. Hailed as a “revolutionary product” by Tom’s Hardware Guide, DivX has been downloaded over 70 million times worldwide.
“Our new progressive Scan DP-450 DVD Player with DivX support is hitting the market exactly at the right time and the right price of €400. We believe that it is important to offer our users support for DivX video above and beyond other video technologies for a number of reasons,” said Bo Lustrup Marketing Manager from KiSS Technology (www.kiss-technology.com). “The incredible visual quality, significant brand equity, and vast global demand for DivX video makes the technology a must-have for next-generation video electronics devices, and the addition of DivX compatibility to the DP-450 will give our product a significant competitive advantage in the marketplace.”
“As the first DVD player to support DivX playback, the DP-450 is a significant development for consumers, and we look forward to working with KiSS Technology to ensure full DivX compatibility in future products,” said Jordan Greenhall, CEO and co-founder of DivXNetworks (www.divxnetworks.com). “The global DivX community has been anxiously awaiting next-generation devices that support DivX video, and the coming year will see the explosion of DivX technology in the consumer electronics space across a wide range of products.”
The KiSS DP-450, manufactured and designed in Scandinavia, was designed to provide consumers with the highest-quality picture and sound. In addition to DivX compatibility, the DP-450 offers a ground breaking progressive scan technology that enhances the visual experience, MPEG-4 support, a unique MP3 playback and user interface and a photo album feature for digital photo collections. The KiSS DP-450 also comes complete with the standard CD/MP3, CD-RW, SVCD, VCD and DVD-RW Playback offered by its predecessor, the award winning DP-330.

isnt 3.11 an old codex there has been three updates this year alone
i don,t believe my divx player uses 3.11 but not 100% positive as it might have all the codex from 3.11 to present one i have divx 5.02 bundle but i have to stick it back on system but it plays all my divx stuff
yeah, divx 5 plays all divx 3.11 stuff
just a note, divx 5 has absolutely nothing to do with divx 3.11a. 3.11a was a crack, and thus illegal
thats why divx 5 came out: totally legal

CES Exhibition - Streaming Video in DVD-quality on a DSL Connection
At the upcoming CES in Las Vegas, KiSS Technology will demonstrate the world’s first DVD Player with Ethernet connection and DivX™ support. The new KiSS DP-500 makes it possible to stream digital TV through a standard 1mb xDSL internet connection in DVD-quality.
KiSS Technology, a leading Scandinavian manufacturer of DVD products throughout the world, will at CES show DP500, the first DVD player to offer an Ethernet connection and DivX support. The player will be sold at a remarkable price of approximately 350 USD + vat.
The DP-500 makes digital TV on-demand possible on a standard xDSL-line – and in a quality which is similar to normal DVD.
“The KiSS DP-500 is a breakthrough in the convergence between the PC world and the Hi-Fi world. We are giving users the possibility of streaming TV; either directly from the Internet or from files, stored on a normal home PC,” says Peter Wilmar Christensen, CEO of KiSS Technology.
The DP-500 is built on the same core as the DP-450 – a new DVD-player with DivX support, which was launched in October 2002. The DP-450 was pre-ordered in more than 50,000 units – already before the launch.
At CES KiSS Technology will demonstrate live streaming from a PC to the DP-500 and also launch the new DP-470 which is to be sold from Q2 2003. The DP-470 is a combined receiver and DVD-player with DivX-support. The amplifier is a full-blooded class D amplifier with integrated DTS and Dolby Digital which delivers 6 x 50w.
“We are proud to launch the DP-470, based on cutting-edge technology. In addition we are able to set the price at a very competitive level. Besides the DP-470 is based on very popular Scandinavian design,” says Peter Wilmar Christensen.
For a demonstration, contact Marketing Manager Bo Lustrup at [email protected] or come to our boot at CES – we are in hall S2 at booth 22207.
