Official Slap Her She's French Movie Review with Piper Perabo
When I saw this on the calendar, I thought ooh another stupid movie, but when I saw one of my new favorite actresses was in the movie, I sat with an open mind.
The most popular girl at Splendona High School in Texas, Starla Grady (played by newcoming Jane McGregor) has it all, the looks, the boyfriend, Kyle Fuller (played by another newcomer Matt Czurchy)), the high school quaterback, she has it all, that is until Genevieve Leplouff (played by the gorgeous Coyote Ugly's Piper Perabo) enters her life.
Faced with a failing grade in French and being suspended from the cheerleading squad, her parents suggest hosting a foreign exchange student from Paris. Garnering sympathy from the townspeople, she announces her intentions during the towns beauty pageant she walks away with the prize.
Enter Genevieve, timid and mousy, who is willing to please Starla and her intentions, winning over the sympathy of her friends and family. Things go from bad to worse for Starla has she is framed by Genevieve for drug use and attempted murder.
In a cross between Clueless and Fatal Attraction, I found Slap Her, She's French very amusing, and downright devious at times.
I loved Piper Perabo in Coyote Ugly and my love is rewarded her in this wicked comedy.
Slap Her She's French is 93 minutes long and is rated PG13 for language and sexual and drug related humor.
My rating: a 8.5 out of 10 or an A-
