Nope, i have tickets booked. Me off to see it tonight.

I couldn't watch a Cam/TS or any rls before seeing it at the theatre. Personally though i'm more looking forward to ROTK as it was my fave of the three books.

p.s: Jackson needs to make another movie like Braindead or Bad Taste next.

Just got back from seeing it....it's around 4am cst....ummm well my opinion of it are as follows(i see bad things for doing this) the first half was slow, not a ton of anything...the second half was much, much better, at the time of seeing it i didn't like the interweaving of battle seen with other plot aspects like Frodo's journey, but the parts they built up duing the battle lead to a larger climactic ending, so on the whole it was better to do it that way instead of everything separate. Let's see....if they didn't film this movie a year in advance i'd say the constant comic relief of Gimli was pretty gimicky...but they intended it to be that way before, so they get a pass on that...this movie also continues the homosexual undertones of frodo and sam (i'm sorry it's just the way it is even if it wasn't meant to be that way) as a whole i definatley liked the first one better, but this one had the best part of them so far, that being the big battle. I'll give the movie an 8.5 out of 10, while the first recieved 10 out of 10...uhh that's about it, i forsaked studying for a final to see this so if those are my option again i'd still see the movie....i say go see it on the big screen, cause cam won't do it justice...but then again you all already knew that

just got back from the midnight screening and welp it rocks, nope it more than rocks it just left me out of breath. The battle scenes are just omg, the story flows alot better too i thought in this part like fotr was all pan to emotional face moment-->action ad nauseum but this just kinda gells better now dont get me wrong i love fotr hell i've watched it enuff but this one really leaves u feeling like u've been on a three hour rollercoaster i was tingling with anticipation b4 it started and well just plain worn out from exhilliration when it had finished, i thought tree beard was cool, and yup like the hype says gollum is really cool, but the battle scenes are what blew my mind man thats just too much to take in in one screening so wether they like it or not my kids r getting to see it tomorrow after skool (a good excuse for me to see it again) i'm just glad i took a day off work tomorrow to rest up cuz its 4am here and i'm tired to say the least.

i thought on a whole fotr extended gave the movie more depth after watching it a coupla times after it all settles in i found the standard was a little too systematic in its delivery the extended version seemed to flesh out the story and give it more substance, but on first impressions with this movie i dont think it suffers from that it all seems to fit perfectly. And if you thought the fight with the cave troll was impressive in fotr u aint seen nothing yet treebeard rocks Aragorn kicks ass and the beginning of the movie is worth every $$ i paid for it just the first 30 mins alone rocks..

So yup i'll be seeing this again in about 12 hours, i better get into bed with the mrs (she declined to come to the screening) cuz she'll prolly take no pity on me and wake my ass up in 4 hours.

Don't have time to write much, but just got back from the midnight showing. TTT is simply amazing, peter jackson has done it again.

for those who didn't appreciate the first half, must have not loved the first installment of the trilogy. I thought the whole film was fabulous and it only got better with the awe inspiring battle at helms deep.

enjoy every moment of this video, and try to see a screening where there aren't people clapping whenever someone shows up in the nick of time and laughing retardedly at goleum's (sp?) schizophrenia.



I can't wait to go back and see this on the HUGE screen at CINERAMA!!!

My scuppered plan for today.....

I was gonna take the afternoon off work and go see it at the big cinema in town. My assistant phoned in this morning saying she was unwell and was staying off. Usually I'm a pretty easy going guy, but I've been walking around kicking things all day. I've had to stay at work, which means I won't get to see this until Sunday night or Monday now. Bollocks.

Ah well, enjoy.

saw TTT at 10pm last night at an advance employee screening. Amazing! I thought the action, the acting, and the story were flawless. Peter Jackson is a god, and nothing can compare to these films. I can't wait to go see it again.

Man, this sucks. When I got tickets to go see the FOTR, I was living in a small town, so it wasn't a problem. I forgot that I was in a college town, and all theatres on opening day are sold out. I'll probably have to see it on Thursday. Me crosses my fingers that something will happen soon

7:41am here, saw it @ 12:01, ended up getting 23 free tickets for 8:00 wednesday showing too due to a fuckup by them :P, wrote a review:

I had one gripe about Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers as did 90% of the people coming out of the theatre did today. We have to wait another whole fucking year to see this finished off.

I would like to start by saying that I was an avid reader of Tolkiens work before the creation of these movies ever began, and being a fan of his works made it harder to like this movie rather than easier. So non-readers should hearten that they'll have no gripes about certain parts in the novel being better than peter jackson has done.

Acting
Superb on all levels, every actor fits absolutely perfectly with their characters, and Andy Serkis has guarunteed himself AT LEAST a nomination for Best Supporting Actor with his voice and motion capture of gollum/smeagol. Aragorn stands out a lot better than he did in Fellowship of the Rings, and you can now really see the hero standing out in him. John Rhys-Davies is the bulk of the movies comic relief with his excellent one-liners, paticularily during the battle at helms deep. Sean Astin and Elijah Wood are at least on par with their previous performances, but unfortunately you do not see too much of Billy Boyd and Dominic Monaghan.

Cinematography
This is one of the movies many crowning gems. Swooping camera shots that go on forever give you the sense that you're going to fall right out of your seat and into the screen. There is also much fewer close-up shots of the ring it's self, as it's been established in the first movie as the protaganist or antagonist, depending on which way you look at it, in the trilogy.

Graphic Art
Gollum/Smeagol is INCREDIBLE, as you've most likely read in many reviews, he very well could be a real person in costume, this shines paticularily in close-up shots with his face, you see real emotion in his eyes. Throughout the whole movie i could not help but gape at the magnificent work WETA workshop did with him. The Ents while good, just seemed pale when compared to gollum though, so WETA's excellent work diminished much of their other CGI. The 'MASSIVE'system is put into major use in the battle of helms deep and it looks quite awesome, seeing ten's of thousands duke it out, each one actually independently doing their own thing is quite the site to behold.

Musical Score
Probably the weakest point in the movie, i've had an early copy of the score for quite some time and couldn't wait to hear it in sync with the film, but i felt that much of it was an undertone, barring some scenes, whereas in the original film it stood clear and really set the mood to scenes, such as gandalf's death. Howard Shore has still outdone himself and Emiliana Torrini singing 'Gollum's Song' exudes sadness and despair, it would be my personal favorite of the soundtrack.

Overall Impressions
WOW. this movie surpassed it's predecessor in nearly all aspects for me. I had a few minor gripes about the adaption of Faramir, but upon reviewing the matter from Peter Jackson's perspective i can see why he made those changes. I can give no higher praise than PJ has outdone himself and i will walk into Return of the King next december with absolutely full confidence of the movies quality.

just came back, in a total rush to get packed up to go back to my parents place for xmas, and enough people have given some nice indepth reports, so i'll simply say

wow.

darker than the first one, more developed story i'd say (maybe others would say it was "slow" i'd simply say it was more indepth, and the battle scenes were great.

dont have any interest in anything below a dvdscreener or dvdrip, so those moanin for a TS, spend a few bucks for a change eh

i just got home from it... it's goddamn amazing...

like said before gollum is unbelievably realistic... and the action is superb...

the acting is kinda lame, and the orcs talking english is a downer... especially since this is wicked cheesy lines... but other than that.. it's AMAZING the Ent's... i thought they would be horrible.. but they pulled it off, the Inengard Battle is almost better than the Helm's Deep battle.
