Last i heard the script has it that Krypton was never destroyed, Superman dies and returns (Old story), Lex Luthor is an FBI agent who eventually turns out to be Kryptonian and Some bloke who plays Vinnie in in Australian soap Home and Away is ACTUALLY being considered for the role of Clark Kent/Supes!
By all accounts the script sucks. Shame cos its from J.J Abrams who writes and created Alias. Granted the reviews i read were from the first draft but still. LEX LUTHOR a Kryptonian????!!! Oh Please!
I'd like to see 2 Smallville movies. One mid series (around the end of season 4) and one when the series ends (season 7-8) which would chronicle Clarks transition to Superman!

Yeah they were doing Superman Vs Batman, Wolfgang Peterson(Das Boot, Air Force One) was set to direct. Apparently Brent Ratner(Rush Hour 1&2, Red Dragon) came in with the idea to sort of remake the 1st movie and re-tell the whole story. Warners pushed Petersons movie to the back burner and gave the greenlight to Ratner.
I agree about Kevin Smiths script. They should have bought it and gave it to Tim Burton to run with...
It looks like Ratner is out of the Directors chair. Thank God for that. Maybe now we can have someone who can actually cast and carry a movie of this stature.
