Review: Daredevil (2003) with Ben Affleck and yes, Jennifer Garner
Ben Affleck wasn't the first choice to play the blind superhero, in fact he was the sixth choice to play lawyer Matt Murdock in another comic book adaptation to the big screen.
Writen and Directed by Mark Steven John, the director of Simon Birch, Daredevil marks his second foray into the directors chair, and he makes it into a classic.
He takes the Daredevil story and turns it into a classic. Daredevil tells the story of Matt Murdock, the son of a professional boxer who gets murdered for refusing to take a dive, which leads young Murdoch into fighting crime. While an accident took his sight at a such a young age, his other senses, make crime fighting look easy.
His two arch nemesis's in this movie is Bullseye played with delight by Collin Farrell, who stole the movie from Tom Cruise in Minority Report, and nearly steals this movie as well, and Kingpin, yes Wilson Fisk, in a role tailor made for Michael Clarke Duncan, (Affleck's costar in Armageddon), and his other rival so to speak, Elektra Natchios played by the extremely beautiful Jennifer Garner, which makes Michelle Pffeifer's cat woman look tame.
Action in this movie is taken to new levels, in combines to Spirit of Spider Man into the Super action of the criminals of the Batman movies.
Johnson does a great job with what he has, and its ashamed that this movie wasn't released in the summer, for it would make $250 million easy.
Daredevil is a must see, and if I had to pay for the movie, I would.
Daredevil is rated PG-13 for action and violence, and sensuality.
My Rating is a 9 out of 10.
