Review: Microdot - Influx UK and Delta vs Format (MICRO001)

Ok, i'm going to keep this short and snappy. This is the first release on the new Microdot dnb label. What a debut. We are treated to a sexy, silky piece of vinyl.

First up, Influx UK & Delta with a stunning jazz number entitled East Of The River Nile. We're treated to a very sexy sound for smokers and head-nodders alike. Jazzy stabs, smooth rolling drums and bass coupled with mystical sounds from the middle east really bring a great sense of warmth and feeling to this stunning track.

On the flip we have a snazzy lil track from reverred artist Format with a track entitled Emotions. This is very cool, but with a darkcore bassline. It kind of conjours up images of late summer afternoons, of an oasis or something. Very chilly, very dramatic, very nice. This kind of sound wouldn't look out of place on Cookin' or Good Looking.

A stunning little debut release, for me i prefer the A side by Influx UK & Delta, but both tracks are superb. More please!!!
