Review: (2003) The Italian Job
The Cast and some plot:
Marky Mark shows off his smug looks and devours screen time in his dull portrayl of Charlie, the leader of a team of thieves plotting to steal $35M back from his greedy ex-partner Steve (Edward Norton). Seth Green did a sweet job as Lyle, the real inventor of Napster, and a computer hacker to boot, hmm where else have we seen this, Enemy of the State? Charlize Theron is just fucking gorgeous, but unfortunatelly this flick is pg-13 so she doesn't reveal herself more than a bra and panties, which I still welcomed. Jason Statham reprises his role from the Transporter, as surprise!, a getaway driver. Also included in the cast is rapper Mos Def, who plays the rather hilarious mute character Left Ear.
My Take:
This type of screenplay is really starting to sicken me. After The Score and Confidence, we are given yet another movie with a tightly wound plan of thieves with a vendeta in mind. Pulling out technology tricks, nice cars, and hot women, we're left with a show too reminicent of James Bond, and too lacking in originality.
5/10
