Just to be picky (and coz i've been an otaku since the dawn of time, ok, well about 1986 lol) Ghost In The Shell was made in 1995. And a damn fine movie it was too. But the original big boy to make a large scale western implosion was the one, the only, the legendary..... Akira.

I'll get my coat, go home and hide someplace.

Now here is something to be excited about a new Ghost in the Shell movie. I downloaded a couple of the anime series of this franchise and I was a little disappointed.

Does anyone know if this will have all new characters or will the old ones be returning without having to use any of the storyline from the weekly(?) series?
