Gigli (2003) Movie review with Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez
Normally I would never pan a movie, before its release date, but after seeing this movie, I would say I pray and hope to God that their never team up after their second release of Jersey Girl later this year.
This movie unfortunately suffers for stinkitis, smelling because of J Lo’s huge butt.
From the director of Beverly Hills Cop, Martin Brest brings his crime adaptation to the screen, with Affleck playing a hitman always looking for the big score, and he finds one when He kidnaps the mentally challenged brother of a high powered California District Attorney, who is prosecutor his mobster boss.
Movie starts off fair, but when J Lo comes onto the screen movie goes down hill. She plays a “lesbian” hitman named Ricki, who is assigned to make sure Gigli (Affleck) follows through on his assignment, even going as far as to make Gigli fall in love with her.
Gigli slowly falls for Ricki creating the most uneasy love story I have seen
Only bright spots of this movie comes in the form of Christopher Walken, who plays a detective assigned to the case, and Al Pacino assigned in a cameo role as Gigli’s boss.
Gigli should never have been made, as Director Martin Brest should stick to straight comedies.
Gigli is Rated R for sexual content, pervasive language and brief strong violence.
They even went as far as to airbrush J Lo’s infamous big butt on the poster
Gigli opens in theatres on July 30th
Gigli rates a 4 out of 10.
