apex 1110w dvd-rw? any help? TIA!!!

Have an apex 1110w, and love it. plays dvd-rw's, svcd, dvd-r's, etc. Love it. Wanted another one, so just bought one. The new one does not seem to recognise dvd-rw's, but does recognise everything else. I'm sure the disks (dvd-rw) are fine, as they work on the old, but not the new. Anyone able to help me? Thanks.

my cousin has one, and it recognizes the dvd-rws. But when he puts one in, a menu comes up and asks him to pick the chapter. But when he chooses one, it doesnt play, the dvd player literally freezes up. but ones without menus will play.

If you bought a newer model, you may have gotten the 1/2 meg version. They aren't as compatable with some formats as the older 1 meg versions. You can look around on google to find the serial number runs and how to determine which type you have.

Is it an APEX 1100WB (ASDA sold them by the thousands in the UK)
If so go and d/l the hack for it (512 Bytes, burn onto CD, put CD into your Apex Player, firmware flashes up and bob's your uncle-one of the best (cheap) Play anything players on the market)
