Jeepers Creepers had an awful ending. It would have been a cool movie otherwise.

Haha, the ending to AI was terrible.

I think the ending to The Truman Show was pretty nifty. Benny & Joon had an amazing ending as well.

One of the worst endings that I can remember has to be from Monsters Inc. Don't get me wrong, I loved the film, it's just the poor expression on Sullys face. "Kitty". Poor.

King of Wales

Ok my pick isn't the worst ending but it is the one that leaves me the most dissapointed.

Back to the Future 3.

I hate that whole flying train sequence. I just cant watch it. As soon as Marty hits 88mph and returns to 1985 i have to swich off the DVD/Tape/Laserdisc/TV. In my opinion its a bad end to an amazing trilogy.

I mean Doc cant fix the delorean in 1885 because parts hadn't been invented yet but he can develop a time traveling flying train?? (Actually i can let the flying bit go as he may have been to the future and fitted a hover conversion)

Anyway.. Thats my pick. Its probably not going to be a popular one either (Sorry Slippers!!)

pjeer?

standard version of sixth sense ending is utter pants. the deleted scene version which is about 20secs longer (and doesn't have a badly cut fade on it) rounds the film off a lot better.

unbreakable.. that movie really didn't do it for me. probably with shamalayan is he has great ideas for films, then they all have 9 billion flaws in them that ruin the movie.

Worst ending:

Swimming Pool.

Just back from seeing this. My gf dragged me to see it kicking and screaming tonight. I only relented since the past few movies we've seen have been more male oriented!

What a fucking waste of 2 hours.

Usual Suspects and Sixth Sense I liked a lot. Unbreakable I saw coming a mile away. Shawshank Redemption is great, of course.

There are lots of kinda unremarkable films that nonetheless have really well-done endings that leave you smiling to yourself as the credits roll ... some that come to mind: Murder at 1600, Wayne's World, True Lies, Interstate 60 (okay, not so unremarkable ), ...

I KNOW!! Doesnt that just piss you off!! "Well the only way I can get 1.21 gigawatts of power in the 50's is with a bolt of lightning, but in the 1880's, I'll just use steam, of course, its so simple!"

I cant stand it! It's such a good series and such an awful awful, thrown together in the last 10 seconds ending.

Shawshank definetly has a great ending though

I love endings that just slam home and the credits roll before you even know what hit you, The Usual Suspects was already mentioned, but here's a few I'm thinkin of right now

-Bully
-Resevoir Dogs
-Menace II Society
-O
-Session 9
-Requiem For a Dream

I was wondering when Requiem For A Dream would make an appearance.

BTW - Signs was a rubbish film. It didn't make any sense and the ending was obviously cobbled together at the last minute as they used up their meagre special effects budget on Michael Barrymoore lookalike alien costumes.

Maybe getting a little off topic as this wasn't at the very end of the movie, but the part in the remake of The Thomas Crown Affair with all the guys in the bowler hats was priceless.

I've never seen the original, btw ... does it also have that scene?

Same with pretty much all the good heist movies ... they all have cool resolutions -- Ocean's Eleven and The Italian Job, for example.

Fuck ... I just finished watching Home Room. Credits are still rolling. That has got to be the best unhappy ending to a film I've ever seen.

For a second there before the ending scene, I thought it was fucked, but then it ended perfectly.

Jesus ... someone really better win an award for this shit.

I'd also like to add another that just came to me:

The Blair Witch Project, brilliant ending.
