I've been trying to convert an .avi file to an mpeg to burn it as a vcd or svcd, doesn't really matter, but whenever I use NTI cd &dvd maker platinum to convert it, my widescreen movie ges converted to full screen and COMPLETELY misshapen, how do I keep my file widescreen and convert it to .mpeg? any help? or can someone point me to a program that they use that is good for this kind of thing? thanks.

TMPGEnc is the proggie you want....it gives you aspect ratio options that will solve your issue.

Your software most likely has the same features.....never used it though.
