In the Cockpit

i had heard of this - was one people forgot about quickly. i never saw it though.

i love how the nfo says you can't find it on dvd/vhs anywhere. sigh.

http://www.familyboxoffice.com.au/movie.asp?ID=5580

took me about 10 seconds to find it on dvd for sale at that link. sure it's region 1-6, an australian release - i'm sure if i searched another 10 seconds i could find it on dvd at other places on the net.

anywho, sample looks great for such an old vhs rip. 9/9/x for that. overall, by today's releas standards with dvd and such i'd give it an 8/8.

I've always wanted to see this movie...being that's on IMDB at the 10th worst film of all time. CVD is variable MPEG1 which is why it looks so good. Good job FLAIR!

nice work XeroFightsAlone heh.

I just remebered this movie reminds me of
Suburban Commando (1991)
LoL, same old trailer that was at the beginning of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 the movie.

"I WAS FROZEN TODAY!"

you know what im talking about.

Yeah im hoping flair does something amazing, and i know they will.

This rls is timely after our big CVD debate. Maybe flair is just trying to prove that CVD can look great
Props to them for being rebellious!

Try searching this site. This ain't the first ever CVD rls. Although it seems to be they are the only one's who do them, although i think a TV group played with CVD for a couple of releases a while ago.

CVD is great, much better for VHS releases than SVCD or VCD. Cool stuff.

In the Cockpit

yeah i desperately want to see what other goodies they've got in store.

that Frighteners release they had if i remember right they claimed it wasn't on dvd at that time. well it was. all over the place. but it is true that their laserdisc rip had additional stuff not on the dvd (if i remember right. too lazy to look it up again).

but yeah, evil-ewok that's the ONE quote from Suburban Commando that i remember; "I was *frozen* today!!"

hilarious.

as far as this movie "Santa With Muscles" previous to it being talked about somewhere online (possibly here on vcdq) about a year ago or so i had never heard of it. strange.

it is kinda funny how FLAiR probably spent alot more than they had to for this VHS source when they could have looked it up on google or any other search engine and purchased the dvd for probably alot cheaper. i'm sure video/audio quality wouldn't have been -too- much better, though.

pfffffffff

Air1..

so u mention there was a Frighteners dvd thats available all over... and then u say the laserdisc had extra stuff...

ok so whats ur damn point?

FLAiR released a rare print .. w/ extras... (hefty hefty extras... NOT on the dvd)...

quite different than the widely available dvd... id say.

/me rips Air1's jaw off

krazyfoo:

that's what i said. the only reason i mentioned the retail dvd being readily available all over the net (probably not in local stores) is because, as i said earlier, if i recall correctly flair stated in the nfo from the frighteners laserdisc rip that the dvd was nowhere to be found.

i'm not dissing flair in any way. i love their rare releases. i'm just bringing up stuff they mention in the nfos in an attempt to help inform people looking for more information on the releases both in the scene and in retail markets in the world.

i thought my post made it clear that even with the dvd retail being out that the laserdisc had the extra stuff not in the dvd, which, is very very cool. why do you want to rip my jaw out? i don't understand... :|

edit::
i looked up the release from 4/30 of the frighteners, it turns out the nfo stated that there were currently no plans to bring the bonus material to dvd, or, the the movie itself on dvd. depending on how you read it. i believe they mean for the bonus material only, though, not the movie itself. as i stated my memory was hazy on it and it still doesn't matter. my claim about the release from 4/30 being cool cause of all that bonus stuff still stands. it's awesome.

3 Ninja's, Hulk Hogan was in that? I've never seen it. I never heard of High Noon at Mega Mountain

For some reason I do believe I have heard of this movie, I know I have never seen it, and probably for good reason.
