rating system

Some people think its funny to post all 1's or 10's for ALOT of releases.. Well to try and cut down on people doing that I'm making it so that you have to have an account on the forum before your able to cast your votes on rating.. For our site regulars this shouldnt be a problem at all.. Any comments or suggestions please let me know
Thanks

DORAEMON RULES

maybe it would be better if you can only vote if you have like 15 posts or more... otherwise people just signup for accounts that will just be used for voting (and maybe some spam..).

pfffffffff

good idea.. i like that

u should ask imdb.com for their rating system.. cuz they use a method that tried to elminate the 'outliers' more or less from having any influence.

they rate the 'movie' not the quality of releases.

but my suggestion would be something similar to what ouroboross said.

I'm gonna concur with ouroboross here...another site i go to, has you have a certain number of repies or a certain number of threads started in order to post on certain things, really does cut out the pointless postings

I agree

Here here. I agree, but I think they should be stringent. Of course it would make the Mods job that much harder, watching out for spam more often after that got put into place.

Perhaps make the minimum posts req'd like 40 or 50....of course, it's not my board/site.

Or maybe if you can require a post at the same time as when someone votes that shows what you voted in the post (ie. 5/5/5 in the title like mine here "I agree"). Not sure if there's a hack for that, but man that would be awesome. At least then we would know who's voted some bullshit vote.

i could do something like that.. but that would add a lot of extra crap in the forum database and would end up just making the whole forum slower.. I think its fine how it is now requireing an activated account on the forum..

pjeer?

also : not everyone uses the forum. and it'd be a drag to those who vote sensably that they have to use something they dont want to x amount of times.

also, then we'd get lots of spam like "nice rls" "great guys" or just " " to bump postcounts in order to vote.

from what i've been told , this seems to be working a bit better (i've been away the last nite) so all for it.
