Keep on Truckin!

Not sure why everyone hated this one...I haven't been that freaked out in a long time. I definately preferred this one over the original japanese.

Good rip, maybe I was sitting too close, but I thought the video looked ever so slightly grainy. I would say 8/9/8. Thought the movie was great. But I also liked the original. Glad to see the movie stayed in Japan. I didn't see this in theaters. Just wondering if there is suppose to be subtitles when the japanese girl/aide picks up the phone heads upstars and starts talking japanese on the phone. This is in the very beginning of the movie. Also did anyone else have the subtitle automatically come on by default. Had to manually turn it off. I also noticed this on the rip of Princess Diaries 2. Or could this be an issue with my standa alone. I have a Pioneer DV-563A.

Tempo the subs come on automatically i had to turn em off myself
Also noticed the fbi anti piracy message has changed on the dvd
Is that the new message or only on certain films?

Good quality dvdr glad they ripped the previews and extras from it, if you like the film that much and want the extras go buy the original dvd i do quite a bit and have a nice collection of originals

9/9/5

Haha... Ya, I noticed that new "FBI anti-piracy" warning first on The Forgotten (which was a R3). Apparantly this is a R1? But it could just be a new message to the people, especially since the MPAA is getting medevil on the movie piracy world's ass. Funny thing is, I still don't read the warnings (even if I buy the the movies). Glad to see other people liking the movie too. But thrillers usually have a 50/50 like/hate split on them (same with comedies too).

To Tempo: The graininess is actually the grain of the film the director used. Cheaper the film, the more grain (kind of like 35mm camera film). Also post processing of the film reduces grain. However, neither of these things can/would be reduced even on the retail DVD (or even HD-DVDs, or even in the theater).

Very nice it looks too, but you don't even have to look at it. I've jumped it and the other warnings and left just the blue rating screen:

Mount image with Daemon Tools and extract files using DVD Decrypter in File mode.
Use IFoEdit and open VIDEO_TS.IFO and go to VMGM_PGCI_UT

In LU_1 (English) PGC-Menu_3 change Pre Command to 2, Post Command to 0
In LU_1 (English) PGC-Menu_4 change Pre Command to 2, Post Command to 0

In LU_1 (English) PGC-Menu_5 change Pre Command to 2, Post Command to 0
then Delete the Break command leaving just the one Pre Command (LinkPGCN) Link PGC 6 and one Cell Command

In LU_1 (English) PGC-Menu_6 change Pre Command to 2, Post Command to 0
then Delete the Break command leaving just the one Pre Command (Jump TT) Jump to Title: 1 and one Cell Command

Save. Hit the DVD Play button to test it out. I recommend leaving the blue rating screen so people know what they are getting.

Read 2COOL's tips for more information.

Open VTS_07_0.IFO. You'll see that there's a layer break right in the middle of the movie. See here if you want to remove it. This is optional.

Make a new image with IMGTool Classic and burn with DVD Decrypter.

Video and Audio are really good on this one, looks great on the widescreen. Keep up the excellent work Centropy! Never saw the japanese version so nothing to compare the remake to.
