Well, O, technically the suggestion has not been implemented (that of an "extra special" account for voting), but it was discussed-- very well-- in the news section. But since the discussion took place a year ago (Aug 2001) I think it might be time to revisit the concept. I, for one, would happily pay to have fewer lamers around the place, posting and voting. I just paid to continue going to gamespot.com. Is this place big enough? How many people have donated? My hunch is that these people's opinions and posts are going to be more valuable and accurate than some of the 6 page dummyfests we have now.

It did, Mystic One. Maybe they can tally the votes differently, using the 'median' or the other 'm' method. OR, and I like this---> Just secretly cut off the 1's. 1 is a bullshit vote-- every other number is (much more) likely to be truthful (even most of the 10's). Just do it quietly. Another mystic thought---> A bar that pops up during the audio voting, which asks if the person voting has actually listened to a sample, and please don't vote (audio) if you haven't. An extra click, but it could have a good effect, even on video voting.
Another (more fascist) thought---> just have someone start deleting more of the clearly useless posts. A post-nuker, if you will.
But structurally and conceptually, this place is better than all the others, IMHO. We don't really need '114 new" post counts, that's what the top line or two of each category is for. Maybe change the blue eyeball-looking guy on the title bar. He's fine, but if you wanna spray some perfume on the place, go ahead.
In conclusion, since you have the luxury of enjoying the status quo of your structural perfection, any changes you make should be regarding content, and the quality and accuracy of the contributors. (don't tell anyone but I'm secretly working on a button which will instantly- and over the internet- blow the head off of every f**king lamer who posts a bullshit vote or post). Meanwhile, this is where I hope you'll spend your "how can I make things better" time.
sending 10-4 the cause.
