audio on crack

a movie i had in mpeg2 or some format like that, i converted to dvd and burned and watched. everything was fine, a friend borrowed it and said there was no audio. the same player i played it in before in which it worked fine, now also plays no audio. i have audio when i play it on the pc with cyberlink, but not in any dvd player. i am totally lost on this one.
